It is SO frustrating when these companies announce a software update via MacUpdate, you download and install it over your old version of the app, and then it doesn't work properly (=deletes your old settings) and then you suddenly remember that you had originally installed the app via the App Store and it should have been updated from there, but it was not yet available there, so you assumed you had to update it manually. :-(

The Mac App Store version does NOT delete the user settings. It's when you overwrite the previous version of the app with the MacUpdate version that it asks you to log in as a new user instead of automatically recognizing your previous log in info. (If this makes sense to anyone.)
And I still don't understand why the MAS update version is STILL not available (which was my original point).

Apropos the late upgrade: What's worth having is worth waiting for...

I couldn't find any preferences to delete in the main library either. Fortunately, I was able to follow the advice of restoring from my Time Machine backup and now everything works again.

Also agree with the other poster who said that you can always count on Roxio to deliver glitched upgrades. :-(

Simple, uncluttered app that does exactly what I need. Worth the $25 for the additional download speed it offers.

Posted update doesn't resolve any issues with Lion. App still hangs, necessitating a Force-Quit. Parallels really dropped the ball on the transition of its software to the latest version of Mac OS X. :-(

Noticed afterwards that what I wrote above only applies when trying to start Parallels from the Dock. Works fine, however, via Launchpad.
