Interesting app. Easy to get around. There's a couple of translation errors as the devs seemingly dont use English as a first language. Importing contacts is difficult to do on ios. An option to Import contact groups would be better than choosing all (700 in my case) or checking boxes for all your contacts that you want to import. Can't see how to export any data. No way to import companies. And contact's that are imported seem to have their company field stripped when it should be used to populate the account fields. I think CSVs in and CSVs out for everything would make this app worth a serious look. As it is it looks like a lot of work and a lot of risk. There's no documentation with it that i can see either. All that said, a great idea that would suit my needs were the above issues resolved.

I've used Capture One Pro and Canon Utilities for tethering 1Ds3's and 5D2's and both softwares have proved to be a constant source of embarrassment in front of clients due to lost frames, freezes, crashes and general poor performance even on new apple laptops. For the last few weeks I've been using DSLR Assistant including a Beta of 1.5 and not only are there a load more features, most importantly it's way way way more stable as a tethering solution. I'd advise people with similar experiences to switch off tethering in C1Pro and allow this dedicated software to handle this crucial task.

This application forms one of the first principals of digital photography. It's absolutely necessary.

I've been using this version for a while and it's incredible. The results and ease of use are great. Very importantly, it retains all metadata fields. Well worth trying.
There are some stability glitches which I've worked around. I think I emailed the developer but don't recall seeing any response but fair play, I'm sure he is busy with other things. The issues are that some file formats don't seem to work too well. I find starting with 16 bit tiffs and ending with 16 bit tiffs is reliable and consistent though.
Many thanks to the Dev.

Why would you want to do this in this day and age? The metadata is the information about the image. If you took the image then you can write that fact into the metadata to protect yourself legally from thieves. That information as well as the host of other information that can be embedded such as GPS info, place names, peoples names, date shot, camera used, to name but a few are priceless. Try looking here instead... and see what information is available in your images.

seems to have stopped replying to emails for support, and by god you'll need support pretty regularly if your experience is anything like mine. maybe he's hibernating. He'll be up soon. T'ill then maybe hold off on chucking your money at this one.

great when it's working, rubbish when my files go missing which has happened twice now, rubbish when you need to force quit the application almost every time that it's run, and abysmal when the developer ignores your requests for help.
look elsewhere.... a sleek interface should be the icing on the cake, not the selling point. I feel like a fool for paying for this.

I can't quit this app on either my macbook or my macmini without force quitting v40, v41 and v42. Developer hasn't replied to my emails regarding this. Very poor service, so not recommended at this stage.
