Note that this app only works with a very specific model of EasyCap DC60. The Product ID must be 0x0408, the Vendor ID must be 0x05e1, and the video version must be 11. I scored on the first two, but even so, audio is not supported (this is random chance). No worries, I run a pro-audio rig so I hook that up separately and verify levels. Try to play video, nothing, check error log: My EasyCap's video version is 10, so.. I am out. It doesn't work at all. Dev says he will add video version 10 support for a $120 donation. Huh. While the DC60 hardware is cheap—under ten bucks—there are too many possible ways to fail here. I'll keep an eye out for a sale on the $35 Mac-specific iGrabber package and be done.

I had been having trouble with the release version of Skitch freezing my entire system about 1 second after quitting. Then Delicious Library did the same. I thought I had tracked it down, but then Skype 5 also caused the same freeze after Quit, so I did a clean OS X install. One of the first re-installs was LCC, as I don't like the feel of native mouse tracking. I was launching Skitch after every installation, and Quit, and... freeze. Remove LCC 3.3, no more freeze.

I just paid for SteerMouse. Not only does it work perfectly (Mac Pro 3,1 running OS X 10.6.6 and a Logitech MX1000), but the developer replied to an email question within a couple of hours.

Bye bye, LCC. I thought version 3 was a fresh start. I was wrong.
