I am an experienced amateur astronomer with a large alt/az scope, and an award-winning astronomy site: astronomy-links.net. I have used Equinox software since version 2.0. I have not yet found any other software better than this one for my purposes, though I admit there are more "entertaining" programs for people who like to look at software images of the heavens. I used Equinox for MANUALLY finding all of the Messier and Caldwell objects, among many others. It has never failed me. I also have an image from the western sky as seen by the three wise men near Babylon when the Star of Bethlehem nova emerged (see: http://astronomy-links.net/StarofBethlehem.html). The programmer has a large private observatory, and he also does the work that gives you the free Clear Sky clocks (see cleardarksky.com). Yes, I think what you get is a very good deal for sixty bucks.
