Confused by the (relatively) low ratings as I think this app is amazing. Have a Mac Mini (64-bit, 10.9) set up with Plex server and a bunch of movies and TV series. Plex plays ANY format, the server is working 24x7x365, and I can watch everything on iPad, iPhone, iMac and my WiFi connected Samsung TV. Beautiful and easy to use interface and all of this completely FREE. What is there not to like?

A minor bug with subtitles (on the TV app) is the only issue I can think of.

Unfortunately no longer working with Mail 7.0 (OS X Mavericks). Hope it gets fixed soon as this thing is/was GREAT.

Excellent little utility. A few years old but still works fine today (on 10.5.8). Today I asked it to covert a 244MB(!) TIFF file to a 8MB JPEG.
Simple matter of dropping the original file in the left box, set the desired output variables (like DPI, format) and Image Tool does the job in a few seconds. Still impressed, although I've been using this for a few years now.

This used to be a good program but it seems to be going downhill fast with every new version. Version 6.9 is a CPU hog and becomes unresponsive (spinning beach ball) for 10 seconds every 2 minutes.

I removed it, installed V6.5, unticked auto-update and was happy, until 2 days later... when it updated itself to 6.9 again! WTF?!?

If the Dock is getting to small for the number of applications, this is a great way for quick and easy access to your favorite apps - straight from the menu bar. Nice!

For Weather enthusiasts with a Mac, this is by far the best program to view, present and log your weather data. Extremely flexible and reliable, full of features, easy to use.

Only one gripe (that will hopefully be resolved in a future release): it is not possible to import my 10 years of data, in my case Davis .WLK format.

Well, version 6.x works, but that's it. Functionality is too limited and not exactly more intuitive either.

Stick to V5.6 which can be found here:

Please note the LWC developer has created a brand new application for Mac users called WeatherCat. Version 1.0. Check it out on

As an enthusiast photographer, I've used many different companies to get photo albums created and printed and Blurb's BookSmart is by far the best.
The options are numerous, where other programs only allow a small number of page layouts. And most importantly, the quality of the books is excellent with great prints. Having used Blurb for the past 5 years, there have been one or two misprints, but the Service was great as a free reprint was sent immediately.
This combined with a reasonable price and fast shipping to the Netherlands makes it a winner for me!

Have been using this for a while now and can't imagine having to do without it. Easy, efficient, low maintenance. Worth the donation.

Is this 10.9 and iTunes 11.1 compatible? When launching, the mehTunes window pops up but then just sits there stuck at 'Setup environment'.

It converted a couple of audio files for me, but then stopped and hasn't worked since. When opening files to transcode, it just sits there (hangs) and nothing happens...
Sounds similar to what Martinbriley reported. I'm on Mavericks.
