As of today, it seems that the quality detection mechanism in both iTubeX and FlashToHTML5 are again broken. I'm currently looking for a way to fix it, but it appears to be more complex this time.

I hope to be able to release a fixed version very soon. Sorry for the inconvenience!

An updated version of FlashToHTML5 (2.6) has been submitted to MacUpdate and should be listed shortly. You may already download it from my website or through Safari's update system.

Detection mechanism in both FlashToHTML5 and iTubeX should be working fine again. No updating necessary! ;-)

Note that iTubeX's downloading feature remains working. To select which quality you want to download, you can select the desired quality inside the video player itself.

Well, it seems that YouTube is somehow 'experimenting' with changing the video player. Most of the time, the quality detection mechanism will work correctly and sometimes it won't.

Note that you will probably be able to get it to work again by following these instructions:

- Quit iTubeX.
- Launch Safari (Safari, not iTubeX)
- In the 'Safari' menu in the menu bar, choose 'Reset Safari...'
- Quit Safari
- Launch iTubeX

As soon as YouTube finishes with this 'experimenting', I will make sure that iTubeX will work with the changes they made. Sorry for the inconvenience.

It seems that YouTube is again changing it's layout.

Unfortunately, the new layout will stop iTubeX from being able to detect and download videos from YouTube. I've already found how to fix it, so a fixed version of iTubeX should be available soon (hopefully within the next 24 hours).

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Just a quick note: it seems that the new interface is only shown to a certain amount of users, not all users. The update will be available soon anyway, just to be future-proof.

Everything seems to be fine again.
If you do encounter problems, please let me know. Thank you.

An update for iTubeX (codesigned/compatible for Mountain Lion) should be available soon (hopefully this month).

All this does is execute the 'purge' command that comes with the Developer Tools (Xcode etc.) from Apple. The Developer Tools need to be installed for this to work (you can also just type 'purge' in Terminal).

I know, and I do appreciate it that the developer has put his time and effort into something that is released to the public for free. I just wanted to point out that you need to have the Developer Tools installed for this to work. ;-)

I like iFFmpeg a lot. I've been using it since the very first beta version, and it has definitely grown a lot!

It works great, it's cheap and as a bonus, the developer is very responsive. He answers e-mail quickly, updates the app on a regular basis and continues to add new features.

For the price, what you get is absolutely great.
It might have been even greater if the binary was included, but if this is not possible due to legal issues, I can totally understand that.

People like Dogzilla should really think twice before posting a one-star review. How can you even post a review without actually trying the application?! I really don't understand those people.

Anyway, it seems that a lot of other people like the app, so that's a good sign. Keep up with the good work!

Then why does the requirements say:
•15-inch or 17-inch MacBook Pro mid 2010 model.

I have a 17-inch MacBook Pro mid 2010 model, so I would expect the update to appear in Software-update...

I have a MacBook Pro 17" Core i7, but this firmware update does not appear in Software-update. If I manually download the .dmg file, the installer tells me that my system is not supported...

Why?!

This is a nice tool, however at startup it says that you need Mac OS X 10.6 in order to change the boot mode... on my iMac with Mac OS X 10.5.8, I am able to change the boot mode!

In earlier versions, this wasn't possible...
