I had licenses for both software titles before they merged.

Shenanigans. Shareware is dead. I paid $25 for this software. For comparison I paid $30 for Mountain Lion. Now a lot of the code in Mountain Lion has been recycled, but that's the point. We benefit when software is kept up to date and features are enhanced or added for incremental payments (like paying rent). What benefit do the customers who support small software companies like Wonder Warp get when they abruptly stop developing software that we have paid for. There is an implicit contract when we support these people and that has been abused by so many shareware authors. There is no restitution for us. Shareware authors are abusing our support. You purchase from Apple or Adobe or another company and you know your money is going into future development that will benefit you. It's the behavior of modern shareware authors that is destroying the concept of shareware (and also the thieves/insects that suck the life force out of software development).

I have a list of licenses for purchased shareware that are no longer developed. Hundreds of dollars invested,,,, lost because the developers changed the name of the software while reusing/recycling the code or stopped developing it altogether. From now on it's freeware or companies with long track records of providing updates or upgrade paths for their customers.

My biggest concern is that SafariStand will be rendered useless by some future OS or Safari release. For years it's an indispensable tool. I am glad it continues to be maintained by the developer.

I would love to see a manual in English. Features have been added.

This is an essential plug-in for Apple Safari. I thought I would have to downgrade to pre Safari 5.1 in order to have the one feature of SafariStand that I like most: 'Clip WebArchive with Selection'. It's a great feature that allows you to select part of web page and make a WebArchive out of it, pictures and all. Thanks to the developer for not omitting this great feature. That alone is worth a meager $5 donation to me. Then there is searching using QuickSearch, a must have.

Wow, this feels like it's been abandoned. No updates or customer requests implemented in over 18 months. Take the money and run?

I have been using this for a year now and really like it. Even now with Safari Extensions there is nothing that does what this is capable of. I only wish that it didn't rely on SpiceRack which seems to make my system less stable. If this could be wrapped into a Safari Extension, Wow!

SafariStand is one of my important tools when running Safari. The WebClip feature is an awesome tool. Unfortunately, it was unstable under 10.6.2 and Safari 4.0.5. Now with the release of 10.6.3 SafariStand doesn't load at all. Other SIMBL plug-ins are loading and working fine so this must be SafariStand issue.

I've sent the developer an email and look forward to a rebuild to solve the issue.

I am registered user of MacJournal and find it extremely useful. The only issue I have is the server it's hosted on is sooo sloooow it takes me three or four attempts to download updates. Usually by the time I finish downloading one update there is a newer one released. I wish mariner would spend the money to upgrade their servers - they are in dire need of it.

Is PGP Desktop 8.x Compatible with Macintosh 10.4 (Tiger)?

Summary:

This document descibes compatibility of PGP Desktop 8.x and Macintosh 10.4 (Tiger).
Details:

PROBLEM:

PGP Desktop 8.x is NOT compatible with Macintosh 10.4, nor will it be updated to support this, or any future release of Macintosh OS X. PGP 8.x is supported by Macintosh 10.2.1 - 10.3.9.
SOLUTION:

The new release of PGP Desktop 9.0 will support Macintosh 10.4 provisionally. The provision is that Apple Mail will not be supported in the initial release. We are working to make PGP Desktop 9.x compatible with Apple Mail as soon as possible. The target date for PGP 9.0.1, which will support Apple Mail, is 05/27/05. Purchase or upgrade to PGP Desktop 9.x if you wish to use PGP with Macintosh 10.4 (Tiger).
