Responding to David-Morrison review.

I will address your two issues.
In regards to rules there is no flaw. Rules use strict logic so a file or folder must pass the rule. If the rules behaved like you suggest then the rule would require an exception. Specifically in your case the exception would be to ignore the rule for folders if a file inside passes the rule. If we did that then what is the point of the rule. The simple and correct solution we offered you is to create a rule that only scans files so that folders do not come into play. And that works.

In regards to Analyze Panel folders not showing the status of contents. The Analyze Panel only displays the status of displayed file and folder pairs, not the contents. If you want to display all file pairs then OPTION click a folder and all folders inside will also open displaying the status of every file. If you want to see a list of all the files that are out of sync then run a Trial Sync. That is not a flaw but intended behavior.

I want to point out that we do not have a casual attitude towards any issues or comments from our customers. ChronoSync has been around since early 2002 and we have always offered free updates and free support. We continuously update ChronoSync and are always reviewed highly by the Mac press.

Feel free to contact me directly.

He said,
It doesn't even get the file ownerships and permissions correct on what it does copy!!!!!!

The truth is CS3 will be at the mercy of the logged in user when copying to file servers. A file server being any other computer you connect to. This is the case with all backup software and even using Apple's Finder to manually copy files. However ChronoSync 4, coming in December 2008, will allow users to install a remote Agent on a destination Mac that will preserve everything remotely.

CS4 passes this this suite of tests:

Second issue.
The article he refers to was a blog. It has not been updated in years. Some of the shortcomings listed about ChronoSync were false. Furthermore we addressed the other issues. Initially the author responded but never posted our fixes.

I didn't think I have to say this but I guess I do. EVERYTHING YOU READ ON THE INTERNET IS NOT TRUE.
If you have any issues with ChronoSync contact support or drop me a line directly. I will gladly help you.
