Does anyone know if MJ 5.2.8 is compatible with OS X Mavericks? I did a quick search of the home page and the FAQs on Mariner's site but didn't come up with anything helpful.

FWIW, according to the rebate terms and conditions the offer is "valid for purchases made from September 21, 2010, through December 31, 2011." ( not merely through Oct. 31, 2010). Also, if you buy the "Electronic Software Delivery" edition (i.e. a download as apposed to a shipped box), you will qualify for a $30.00 rebate instead of $20.00.

This update (7.1) as of the date of this comment only contains the IntelliPoint (mouse) drivers. I have a Microsoft keyboard and downloaded and installed this update. The Microsoft mouse driver updated to 7.1 but the keyboard driver (for which I downloaded the software) remained at 7.01. In other words, this NOT an IntelliType Pro update!

Yes! Hand tool, woo hoo! I love this app! It's fast, free, friendly, and fairly feature full.

However, there are still a few wrinkles that need to be ironed out:

1) With the hand tool being automatic, there is no longer any way (that I can find) to select text from the document. Text selection should be the default action, and the hand tool should be invoked by holding down the space bar (as per many applications where the document can be repositioned within the window.) Or, simply provide two "buttons" to select the desired function.

2) PDFView needs to handle multiple monitors better. (e.g. going full screen on second monitor makes it black, but no document is displayed, and the application has to be quit in order to get the display back. Also, when opening the drawer with the document on the main screen, the window (correctly) resizes to fit the window and the drawer on the screen; but with a second monitor, the window doesn't reposition itself to the fit the main screen. Instead, the window "narrows" itself but otherwise stays where it's at while the drawer simply juts out onto the second screen.)

And a feature request:

I'd love to have some simple draw and text tools in PDFView. Not to actually edit the PDF, but to be able to superimpose comments, lines, diagrams etc. on top of the PDF and then save it. This would be similar to what Preview does, only with better tools (e.g. a freehand draw tool).

Nevertheless, this is a great application and I appreciate it's rapid development!

Pertinent info:

• 2004 iBook 1.2 GHz G4 (no speed demon, but not enough to power an mp3 player? !!! Sheesh...)
• 1.25 GB RAM
• 8325 tracks in library
• Library is located on a network (LAN) mounted hard drive, not on my iBook
• I had just reformatted my HD, reinstalling Tiger and all of my apps one week ago... Feels like I have a new machine... Everything is running great...that is until I downloaded iTunes 7...
• Frame rate for Visualizer iTunes 6.x is 20+ fps. With iTunes 7.0... well it won't even register, but by counting it is about one frame every second !!!

So after about an hour I couldn't stand it any longer. Reinstalled iTunes 6.0.5 and everything is once again copasetic. I'll try again after the next update. Until then, should my vacume cleaner break down...well, I know what to use to replace it...

Version 2.3 runs super sloooooooow on my computer. So slow, in fact, that is unusable (eg. it takes several seconds for a brush stroke to draw itself on the screen, then several seconds for the cursor to change to an arrow when over the tools palette, etc.).

Could be that v. 2.3 requires a better graphics card than my laptop possesses (Late 2007 13" MacBook 2.2 Ghz. core 2 duo), but down-grading to v. 2.2.1 brings the program back to normal operation.

@WALRUSCP Took your advice, and used AppZapper to delete all of Acorn's associated files other than the program itself. That seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for the feedback! :)

In it's present state the program is useless (at least for me). It won't create a virtual machine because it can't recognize the ROMs. These are the _same_ ROMs that work just fine in Catakig 1.16 (classic), as well as other emulators such as Virtual ][ (native), OSXII, (native) and STM (both iterations, Classic). And, yes I have them located in the ROMs folder (Duh!). So, here's wishing the developers the best in their efforts, but right now it's a wasted download.
