I have had this app for a while, have updated every time, but to this day it has not been able to show, much less export, the iMessages/SMS or Voicemail files on my iPhone 4S 64GB. With the latest update it actually continually shows a spinning icon next to Messages in the sidebar but keeps rebooting the iPhone. Alas, even though the features may be 4-5 stars, I am yet to have any luck with it. I emailed the developers at their web site and hope there is some resolution to this because messages and voicemails are things I cannot get to from iTunes where I have all my music etc. Safely stored and backed up.

I saw the MacUpdate reminder that this panorama maker 7 offer was expiring soon, so I came to the page. I spotlighted the words and found I too had bought (and never used) Panorama Maker 5. And, for good reason. I launched it to see if the app's built in Upgrade would offer something different. Forget about it. The app launched and started looking for unmounted drives, then looking for a movie I do not know even exists, and then just hung with the Cancel button inoperative.

Figuring there was no harm in trying out the trial version of PM7 I went to their site… what a bunch of BS… it downloads the free trial (linked on the PM7 page) but it is PM5. That probably means PM7 is even worse than PM5 Mac. The PC version too is an older version that it downloads.

Then I remembered why over the years I had never had any positive experience with any ArcSoft product… probably some nice guys and gals in some now bigger sized garage with good wishes and ideas but poor implementation.

Alas, even as a big fan of panoramas for decades, even at this discounted price I would not and cannot risk this.

Junk. Used to be a Must Have. Now, an overpriced waste.

As I tweeted earlier today, iPhoto 9.4 on Mountain Lion is among the most unstable and poorly tested apps from Apple in a long time. Clicking on Export kills it. Several times it has started up after normal shutdowns with finding inconsistencies in the database. It is doing a lousy job of posting photos to FaceBook and Flickr (and can sometimes cause a photo to be posted and then deleted when iPhoto does a reverse sync when you click on a FaceBook album icon. It all used to just work, it now just crashes. Big FAIL for Apple on this version.

Can you help me understand how a "Free" app is $1.99 at the Apple Store?

Scott posted my exact opinion before I could ;-)

I used to love their products. Was a registered user since the earliest versions (as I am since Adobe Photoshop 1.0), and hated InDesign.

Then the jerky behavior of Quark (customer service) and their CEO writing me (many years ago) an abusive email for complaining about their app-crashing spell-checking bug was all I needed to know they had jumped and somersaulted over the shark. Can't wait to see The End of companies like Quark (and US Sprint :-) )

Oh, the irony. I came to find a tool to check if bookmarks in Safari are valid/existent. Clicked Download above and found to be Error 404, a dead URL!
