When I tried an older version of this (sorry, it was just a few months ago and I don't remember which version it was) it deleted a folder called .rockbox off my USB device. I reckon it works by deleting everything it find that starts with a dot.

This is pretty disastrous. In my case it meant I had to re-install the Rockbox operating system on my MP3 player, and I had lost all my customisations. Many UNIX-style utilities store user preferences in files that start with a dot. Websites generally have a .htaccess file, and other similarly named files are possible.

My advice is steer well clear of this utility, unless someone can confirm that the new version no longer does this. The only safe way to clean up a USB stick is to remove specific files, and this list should really be user-configurable.
