I've had this for a while now, and it's a good program, but over-priced. The good things about it are that it does seem to play all of my blu-rays with no problems, and ones that are reported as having problems (by others) they seem to get to pretty quickly. [On a side note, the program is updated VERY frequently as a result, so that gets tedious beyond believe].

Now for what's bothersome: First, as I already mentioned, the price. Had there been better support from Apple, or other viable, true competing products, I've would've at least considered them. Secondly, when the program is opened by double-clicking on an associated media file, a window comes up and more often than not, it wants to play the disc in the drive, which is not what I wanted. I've been a paid user for a while now, and a demo user previously, and for the life of me, it utterly astounds me how they can offer a blu-ray player such as this, tout it so as the greatest thing since slice bread, but STILL not be able to play/show the blu-ray movie menus like what I am accustomed to with DVDs or on a set top box that plays blu-rays (such as a PS3).

Too bad...I had high hopes for this. I have both an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 that are less than 9 months old (i.e. New revisions) and neither could find the server using this software. The server in question can be seen/controlled/used for control via Timbuktu and also it already dispenses media via Home Sharing, so there is nothing wrong with the setup of the machine or the network.

I only had a brief chance to use the other two tools. PS3 Media Server did work (only tested with PS3), but it doesn't group the TV Seasons together, so for the immediate future, if that isn't corrected soon, it won't be in my future. As far as your request to send in the logs, give me a chance in the next couple of days. It's late at night now, and tomorrow I have plans for most of the day and evening. I will send them in though.

Yes it's free, but if it doesn't do what it's advertised to do, then it's still no good. Will not read a single playlist that I have created, and it will not even recognize all of my songs (only about 90% of them) to upload. Great potential, but falls flat.

You might wonder why I would give an overall Rating of 2.5 stars when most of the other stars lists as 5. Unfortunately, there isn't a category for performance and this is where the program GREATLY fails. The performance in question is its affect on system performance. By itself, for small files, it is OK, but if you are attempting to extract a LARGE file and and you have multiple things going on (downloading a file via Transmission or Firefox for instance), it will hang your system more than likely to the point of having to forcibly turn off your machine and reboot it. This has been going on since v2.0 of the program, and affects 10.6.x and 10.7.x systems in this manner. Transmission and Firefox are not the only programs that could be doing something simple in the background, but just for clarity's sake, I have been using the latest at that time whenever I ran across this issue since the 2.0 release of BetterZip. You have an elegant and well designed program...just make it so that you can use it when you are operating your system and being able to put it in the background while you complete other tasks. Other similar programs do not have this issue.

To answer your questions:

- The archives are in ZIP format
- I generally only extract one archive at a time.

USELESS as all can be. Initial popup screen comes up asking you to share with the world and you can't get past it.

This is the easiest solution yet of its kind. Even as a beta, it is stable, and works with any site that I have tried thus far. In a nutshell, it works! In addition, the response from the developers have been top notch as they have been responsive an answer all my questions and take in the feedback that I have given them for the beta. Good tool, good price. Highly recommend.
