This is a sweet little app. No matter what I am doing on the computer I always have music playing in iTunes. Now, I can control it without opening every time I want to change songs, adjust volume, etc. If I never open iTunes, operating via keyboard shortcuts, as opposed to opening 50 times a day; I can only imagine how much time this saves me over the course of a year. It is worth 10 bucks. It is a bit high in memory usage, which is my only complaint.

This app is great. I got cover scout from the Macheist bundle and decided to buy this after a great experience with it. Between the two of them I have filled in tons of missing covers and fixed even more mistagged music. The app is completely stable. I have a late 09 iMac, 2gb ram, 2.66 processor, etc. I have over 17,000 songs. It took a while for the initial scan. I actually started it right before bed and it was done when I woke up. I have taken to "identifying" about 2 or 3 dozen songs and repairing them at a time. Within seconds it starts identifying the songs on a staggered basis. You can start correcting them as they are identified so the down time for the identification scans is very little. The only down time I can see is on the initial scan, which can easily be solved by starting it and going to do something else. So far I have been working with classic rock, rock, alt rock, and a bit of country. About 95% of the 500 or so songs that I have tried to identify were a success.

What this app does could be done manually, however it would take me eons to check 17,000 tracks. This app probably saves me about 75% of the time it would take to do it manually. 30 bucks is a bit steep, but my time is valuable. I would recommend this with cover scout if you are missing a bunch of artwork as well. They are integrated and have a good deal of cross functionality making things easy.

Within my rating, I took off a point for features because I would like to see it checking track numbers as well. I also took a point off value because it costs about 10 bucks more than it should in my opinion. Overall, however, it does exactly what it says it will do...and it does it well. This is worthy of a five star rating in my opinion.

Just picked this up with the Macheist bundle, and I love it. As far as I am concerned the bundle is paid for. I have a huge library with spotty artwork. Basically I don't have anything that iTunes doesn't sell. Just in the few minutes I have been playing with it I now have artwork for all of my AC/DC albums (I had only 2 of 18 before). I am looking forward to finally filling in the rest. Regarding speed, I have an early 09 iMac. It was a bit of a resource hog as it scanned my 17000+ songs, however it was done in 15-20 minutes. That is not bad considering the volume. I like the fact that for each album I can choose between several different iterations of each cover. Sure I could do all of this manually, but in the past year I haven't and probably wouldn't had it not been for this app. It would take much longer to find the highest quality covers by scouring around and doing the drag drop thing. I don't know about the 40 dollar price tag. In my opinion this is a good app that I would pay 20 bucks for any day.
