I have a second gen ipod touch that was being synced with my itunes library on a windows machine, when the machine crashed.
The machine had itunes purchased music, Amazon mp3 purchased music, and several old CD's I had ripped years ago.
I was able to restore my itunes purchases songs to a mac mini, but did not want to have to re rip the CD's or try to figure out which Amazon purchased songs needed to be re downloaded and imported to the mini so I wouldn't lose anything trying to resync the ipod. The IExplorer auto transfer feature automatically determined the songs missing on the mini library and imported them into the mini's itunes library from my ipod. About 300 songs in a couple of minutes. After that it was safe to sync my ipod with the mini without losing any songs.
