For the first time Adobe Flash refuses to install on my computer until I quit Dashboard Client! If someone could please tell me how the heck you can quit Dashboard, I would then be able to install Flash.

I just downloaded this today, thinking that because MacUpdate just put it into the current crop of updates today that we would finally get version 7.1.2.2019. WRONG!!! More bandwidth wasted to get 7.1.1.1888 once again. You would think I wouldn't fall for this trick yet again...

I am confused about two versions of 4.0.5. One is designated as #405001 and the other is #405002. What is the difference?

Having used SafariStand for many years I was disappointed when I found that it didn't work in Safari 7.0. I am not sure whether this version works or not. The trouble is Safari will not let me download it because of an 'untrusted certificate' or something. It would be nice if this problem was cleared up soon.

I should add that until this is resolved, I will go back to OmniWeb (ancient and outdated as it is - it still works in Mavericks). The sidebar has always worked flawlessly in OW.

Back to the thread: I have now been using Safari Stand with Safari 7 for a few weeks now. The latest EasySIMBL is the best of the lot, but still occasionally needs a relaunch to get Stand working again. Aside from that, I see that OmniWeb is starting up again and is in testing mode for a Mavericks release rsn. This news comes like a Christmas Present for me!

I have not heard it mentioned but this update seems to presume that everyone has an unlimited fast broadband connection to the Internet. That doesn't apply here! I have a painfully slow and expensive connection via 3G. Every bit and bite is metered so if I even attempt to download Mavericks and associated updates, I would be paying an arm, leg and my first born to my ISP and would have to avoid using my computer for a few days as it struggles to download the files.

So I have to ask, why aren't the rural people with ancient telecom technology being considered at Apple? If they would just consider offering either DVDs (like they used to) or Thumb Drives with the files on them to people in my position it would make things so much easier.

A caveat to those who like me are thinking of upgrading from TTP6 to TTP7. Micromat do not mention this anywhere in the listing, but if you have an Apple Fusion drive (or any drive that uses the Apple Core media format), stay away! I found out too late and downloaded the update only to find that it is useless on my iMac with a 3TB Fusion drive, and now can't get my money back.

Just to reply to Macvet22. Your argument would hold true only if the software author were to mention in the "Compatibility" section that Fusion or Hybrid drives are NOT compatible with the recent software version. If I had seen anything like that, I would not have updated until they get it right.

Just to let folks know, updating to version 3.0.2 via the usual update process through the application update menu item will not work. You get a dreaded "not properly signed" alert. But updating through MacUpdate Desktop works just fine.

Well this is a useless piece of cr*p! I bought it from MacUpdate and used it once. Now when I try and use it, it quits immediately after launch.

Yet another scam and into the trash it goes!!!!

All is well again. I trashed everything and then had MacUpdate Desktop install Focus from scratch. It works again. No need to buy a second copy.

This is such a great app that I use it even though the latest versions have developed really bad habits. It does so many things well and has an become indispensable Finder substitute.

The biggest problem is that it won't let me empty the trash if I am running PF. It always shows an alert that one or more of the items in the trash is still busy (Wrong!). So I try and quit Path Finder. The problem here is that when I am having the trash problems, Path Finder will not quit unless I do a force/quit (which seems to mean that the file that is causing the problem in the trash will not erase because it is being used by Path Finder - an ugly circular situation). Once I force/quit Path Finder the trash empties normally in the Finder.

I started using Dropbox 2.2.4 a few days ago and I am searching in vain for a way of updating to this version. The update process is not mentioned anywhere in the instructions and my ancient demented brain can't figure it out by looking for an update item in any menu. If it is supposed to update automatically in the background, it has failed as it is still at 2.2.4 as of 06/22/13

Any tips?

Thank you Nontroppo. Now if you would please tell me what a DMG is, I'll be happy as a clam! (I am allergic to Acronyms).

I have been using the previous version for some time in Snow Leopard and just installed version 2.4. Now every time I try to use the preferences settings the application crashes. What gives?

I posted a troubleshoot report yesterday and for some reason it was deleted.

However, I am glad to report that the problem (two launches of the same application - and having to quit the launched application twice) has been solved by simply trashing the preferences of the previous version and rebuilding the settings of the new one. Since 1Key is extremely easy to set up and modify, this was not a big deal.

This version of one key has a terrible bug! With every application I launch with it, it launches the it twice. So when I hit the FKEY I have set for Safari, for instance, I have two Safari applications running at the same time. I didn't even know you could do this! I certainly don't know why anyone would want to do it.

Major bug that I noticed with the first version that I put to service (1.3). Trying to permanently trash bookmarks that are in the trash folder does not work. This version (1.3.1) does not work either. The result is I have a load of bookmarks in the trash folder that I can do nothing with. The help file says: use the "delete" command in the menu (nope), right click the trash icon (nope) use the delete key (nope) use the "-" icon at the bottom (nope). Sorry, but nothing works!

I was unable to download this newest version using the MacUpdate link. The pinwheel just kept spinning. However I was able download it by copying this link to Speed Download:

ftp://mirror.switch.ch/mirror/lemkesoft/gc7_build338.dmg

And the download went perfectly.

This updater is not able to create a CD for me. Everything went fine until the very end when it quit, kicked out the disk and said that there were errors and the disk could not be used. This happened three times and I gave up. I seem to remember this happened the last time I tried to update.

Then I remembered how to get a copy regardless. I had the updater write an image of the updated disk to my hard disk, and force-quit the application instead of quitting it normally. This prevents the updater from erasing the image file. I was able to retrieve it from the .tmp folder (invisible) and copy it to the desktop. So at least I have a working copy of DW4.3.

I don't know why I have trouble creating a DW CD, my CD/DVD burner works fine for other things.

Any ideas?
