• Fixed a problem with certain blend modes and shape layers.
• Layer styles are now scaled when you resize your image.
Thank you! :-)

I'm still finding the layer styles a little difficult to work with. I think if there was an easier way to enable/disable the layer style (maybe add more buttons to the bottom of the palette) and to delete an effect from the styles window (say, with the delete key or maybe cmd+delete) then it would be a great improvement.

Bookmark editing! This is the one feature I wish Preview had, so it's nice to find a program that can do this. Unfortunately it doesn't work. Seems to work okay within the app but after saving and opening the PDF again, the bookmarks are messed up and don't do anything when you click on them.

Uh, it's really not like that. Check out their FAQ for more info:
http://www.pixelmator.com/weblog/2011/01/08/the-mac-app-store-transition-faq/

Key points:
- 1.x.x updates WILL continue for free for the non-Mac-App-Store version. The 1.6.4 update should be out within the week. If you're an existing user you're under no obligation to pay for the MAS version.
- Existing licenses simply cannot be transferred to MAS because it doesn't support that sort of thing.
- "Full acquisition price" is normally $59, as seen here on Macupdate. The $29 MAS pricing is a limited-time offer. Of course it is of more interest to new customers (like me!) than existing ones.

If you're an existing user, think of it as paying $29 in advance for the upgrade to 2.0 (which you'll otherwise have to pay full price for).

This is a seriously nice piece of software. I hope that it remains donationware (for the sake of its own popularity) but would hardly complain if it doesn't. For me, the only thing DockView has that HyperDock doesn't is live previews (would be awesome if HyperDock could implement this). If you want to see window previews when application switching, there are better dedicated programs to do this than DockView. HyperDock wins out for other features such as window management and bringing windows to the front when dragging files over the previews (though this is slightly buggy at the moment), and also for general design/implementation/"doing things right".
If I may, I just have two feature requests:
1) Shortcuts for "Current App", which would only work for whichever is app is the current one
2) Move/resize windows with arrow keys

Oh, and here's a random idea I forgot to mention: Extensibility via plug-ins for the "Special Previews". People could make HyperDock plug-ins for their apps (or other people's apps) to show whatever sort of special preview they want. This sort of thing can make the difference between "one of those alternative apps" and something that becomes more or less ubiquitous. It would only really work if HyperDock remained donationware though, which is why I mentioned it above (but again, I'd be more than happy to pay a registration when it goes final).

Does Safari AdBlocker prevent ads from loading or does it just hide them?

This is a really nice little program, however it doesn't support special characters in the type/creator codes. I believe Mac OS Roman encoding is supposed to be used.

I've been looking for a replacement for GraphicConverter for some time now but there's one specific feature I need that I haven't been able to find anywhere else: The ability to easily edit an image's mask in files like PNGs. Can Acorn do this? If not, is there any chance of this feature being added?

Couple of things new in v13 that aren't mentioned:
- MacFUSE plug-in, allowing you to browse archives as if they were disk images (read and write).
- 7z support finally! Limited to expansion only (can't browse). Also LZMA compressed tar.

My opinion of StuffIt has not changed though and is just the same as all the other comments here. They have the mindset of a Windows developer. They would be wise to drop their Mac line and focus entirely on Windows where they will fit right in along with the zillions of other malware products.

I had initially thought they were going for good presentation in this release but the new DropStuff really sucks (in terms of interface/presentation) and the QuickLook plug-in is using pre-Leopard style folders, despite a nice Leopard folder for the app.

The grid functionality is a neat idea. It got me thinking though. Two similar features would be really nice:
- Alignment guides (like in iWork) allowing you to easily align icons with each other or with the center of the window.
- Drop zones in the templates, allowing you to drop an icon into straight into the right position.
Also, the icon size should probably default to 128x128, seeing as all the templates are set up for icons that size.

Small addition to that: Have an alias to the apps folder already included in the correct position on the templates.

Also, why does it use ADC compression? Zlib (UDZO) is the standard and is a bit better.

Curious, I've been getting no response for at least a week. However I can ping it so I have no idea what the problem might be.

Bug: If an app has no "Get Info String", AppHack will display the info string from a previously opened app.

This looks like a useful app but the archive seems to be corrupted or something. I can't extract it properly and if I manage to get the dmg file out of it it won't mount.

Hm, tried it in Firefox and it's working fine. Guess Safari doesn't like it for some reason.

Okay, I tried on another computer and it does indeed work fine. So it's just my Safari then. Stink.

Sometimes I suddenly find all the menus are showing two of every item and there are two Adium menus. I haven't been able to work out the circumstances which trigger this though.
