1Password now works again on Maxthon (and Chromium) if you make a small adjustment in 1P's settings. Go to 1P's Preferences -> Advanced and uncheck the bottom most item "Verify browser code signature." This allows unsigned browsers like Chromium and Maxthon to access 1P. Just be sure not to try to add 1P to any browser you're not sure of. I'm sure of Maxthon and Chromium. I'm not sure of SRWare Iron.

Except that only a few minutes after my download of 12.16 the link to it has disappeared from the site given above. Perhaps you can find it again if you try.

I tried this for a week or so when it was first announced. The version at that time did work in the sense of deleting all cookies when the browser quit. But I also had Cookie, from the same developer, installed; and since there's no way to disable Cookie that I can find I never knew for sure which app was deleting the cookies. Privatus appears to be just a simplified version of Cookie (i.e. no preferences) and if you just want a cookie cleaner that deletes all your cookies on quit this will probably do the job. But if you're satisfied with Cookie I see no reason to switch.

According to the developer's site Version 2.80 for Mavericks is "in progress."

If like me you've been fretting about your inability to change fonts and font size in recent versions of Safari you can do it now by clicking on the Safari icon in the TinkerTool menu.

There's been a section for Safari options in every version of TT that I've owned. It's possible that the option to change fonts is a feature only in the current version.

It's good to see Glims adding more alternatives to Google
in its array of search engines - particularly Ixquick and Startpage, which I use on a regular basis. It would e even better if Glims had used the SSL versions of these engines, but now that there's a Startpage extension for Glims I can use that instead of the Glims version. Five stars for this longtime useful extension.

A player that doesn't support lossy and lossless audio formats like flac and Apple lossless is useless for me. Since clementine can't even bother to indicate exactly what formats it supports I can't bother to try it out. I'm sticking with Vox.

Sorry, MJ, I must have been making false assumptions based on the vague info given in the MU blog. I'll download Clementine now and give it a try.

The setup is kind of complicated but the music reproduction is better than Vox's, so thanks again MJ for turning me on to Clementine.

Maxthon continues to work with 1Password despite the fact that 1P v.4 no longer supports Chromium. Install the 1P beta from the Chrome Web store to keep1P v.4 functioning on Maxthon.

Unfortunately, the new version of 1Password, v. 4, does not work with Maxthon. I've switched to LastPass.

AgileBits has recently added an option to 1Password allowing us to disable the function that prevents 1P from being installed on both Maxthon and Chromium. If you've abandoned one or both of these browsers because 1P has not been working on it, try again after unclicking "Verify browser code signature" in the Advanced Preferences.

Some positive news for Chromium/1Password 4 users. The 1P4 beta works on the excellent Maxthon browser which is based on the Chromium engine. Here's how to convert Chromium to Maxthon without losing your settings and extensions:

1. Download the Maxthon app from MU but don't open it
yet.
2. Go to Application Support, find the Chromium folder.
3. Change the name of that folder to "Maxthon."
4. Now open Maxthon from your Applications folder.
Maxthon will open with all your Chromium data intact.
5. Find the Chrome Web Store online using Maxthon and
locate the 1Password 4 beta there. Install it. Be sure
to delete any other version of 1P you may have already
installed.
6. Reopen Maxthon.

To go back to Chromium just follow the process in reverse. I myself have been using Maxthon for several months and consider it superior to either Chromium or Chrome. And it has no commercial connection to Google.

Lots of crashes after installing this using System Preferences Update. Most are attributable to the FlashPlayer plug in. And I couldn't open the Extensions section of Safari Preferences without causing a crash. I've removed the FlashPlayer plug in, which seems to have stopped the crashing, but most sites keep telling me they need it. Many reports went to Apple; let's hope they're on the ball.

Thanks for your valuable input. I did have the latest 10.1 installed before the crash, but removing it, installing another one, and restarting seems to have fixed my problem.

1Password claims my long time in use password for itself is incorrect and is rejecting any upgrade or substitution of the new version for the old. Why is that?
