I loved to use Netbarrier (Virusbarrier) until version x6. Lastly Intego split up back Virusbarrier into Virusbarrier and Netbarrier. With this Intego radically cut back the versatility and the attributes that were so important: fine tuning and manual configuration.
Now Netbarrier is not more than a tool for keeping things simple. But the life (and the internet) is by far not as simple. To make things worse Netbarrier needs a lot of memory and cpu-load.
Conclusion: I am now looking for alternatives.

Now especially Netbarrier is not more than a tool for keeping things simple. But the life (and the internet) is by far not as simple. To make things worse both Virusbarrier and Netbarrier need a lot of memory and cpu-load.
Conclusion: I am now looking for alternatives.
