I just tried Prey on my MacBook Pro running 10.5.8 and on a Netbook with XP SP3, neither worked properly. I tried all the troubleshooting steps and ended up with nothing but inconsistent behavior. After a week of searching and testing I've given up and uninstalled it. Hopefully I'll be able to try it again in the future when its more reliable.

Short list of issues:
- Installed fine on the Mac and verified itself, never sent any reports back when flagged as missing.
- Installed on XP, but never verified even though check mode said everything was fine. Manually ran it which allowed it to verify, but never seemed to run automatically. Reinstalled several times.
- Sometimes the XP install would screenshot the desktop, sometimes it wouldn't. Updating the module settings didn't always pass on down either.

Look, most people are downloading this for one reason and one reason only, to open Stuffit archives. This application cannot perform compression, which is great. It's only purpose is to infrequently open little treasures of the past, a task it does just fine.

It's functionality is succinct, I'd fear greater integration. The fact it even uses Growl is amazing. So lets all just be happy someone is spending the time and money to keep this thing running.

P.S.

To the developers: I'd love to know how Stuffit [compression] provides are revenue model. Perhaps it's just a write off. Thanks for not letting this thing die, forever bricking very old archives and anything sent by the elderly.

8.3.3 still doesn't allow WebKit to launch.

Saft 8.3.2 doesn't seem to work with WebKit. The previous version worked fine. I haven't experienced any issues with 10.4's Safari.

If you menu bar items are now missing there are several easy steps you need to take to bring it back. This does not require removing Front Row! I've outlined them in detail athttp://voice.firefallpro.com/2006/03/front-row-enabler-bringing-back-your.html.

My menu bar went missing when I installed the latest version of Front Row this morning, and used Front Row Enabler.

I've had a less the glowing three month experience with iBiz Server. It's annoyed my company so much that I took about an hour to write about it. In short it has lost, time, created incorrect invoices and done some really dumb stuff. Read on at: http://voice.firefallpro.com/2005/12/problem-with-ibiz.html.

Simple to use, and very effective. I wouldn't be surprised if apple "borrowed" this functionality in future versions of Address Book.

I've had no issues with this plugin using version 2.3 and 10.4.3. Also to note there don't appear to be any conflicts with the built-in Map Quest functionality.
