I purchased the Mountain Lion Family pack and have upgraded one of our machines to Mavericks and when I launch Cocktail it tells me that I cannot run this version on Mavericks and does not offer me an upgrade to the Mavericks version; I only get a quit button. So does this mean I need to purchase a new version?

Mute startup chime is no longer working in Mountain Lion. Is there an update coming?

I guess it just takes the app store longer to push updates out. Just one more thing I dislike about the app store.

okay, so why does this update to 1.4 tell my I have 14 days to evaluate before buying. Maybe it's been there before and I never noticed but I don't think so.

okay so 1.4 is now stable and I checked for updates again and downloaded again but that does tell me if this is or will be a paid update. The installer for 1.4 still says I have 14 days to evaluate before buying. Can someone please clear this up for me? Thanks

ok, I am running version 1.3.4 and I check for updates and it says version 1.3.4 is the newest version available. What's up with that? Do I need to manually download and install 1.3.8?

I'm running Lion 10.7.4. I'm glad to see it's not just me... you know what I mean... Anyway, I'm just going to manually download and update. Thanks all for the replies and thanks Jfm ;)

ok, so this is just weird. I go to their recent changes page - http://totalfinder.binaryage.com/changes - and the latest they show is 1.3.4

Jeez, I guess it's been a long day. I just re-read Loehman's reply and yes, you are correct. Now I see that these are all pre-release versions and the latest is now 1.3.11 and if you change the preferences to include pre-release versions the updater works fine. And yes, MacUpdate should make it clear that these are pre-release.

Downloaded and installed 2.1.3.

The App Store icon is confusing; please explain.
The help file is for 2.1.2
Preferences generates an error - "cannot load nib file"

Correct, Read Me file. I just reverted back to the previous version. It would be nice to know what the version history is since there seems to be obvious changes.

Ok, I see there is now a 2.1.4 so I installed that and the "Read Me" file is updated and the preferences work. Thanks

I have to agree with Larrymjc - the "generic application" icon makes the list look very busy and messes with the eyes where the old icon was rather plain, did its job, and didn't jump out at you.

Don't get me wrong; I love the app and have been using it for a long time now. This is just constructive user feedback or at least that is how it's meant. Thanks for the app.

FAF is one of the best and most useful tools out there. I purchased it directly from Tempel so they would not have to pay the 30% premium. I am running 1.7.2 and when I check for updates it says 1.7.2 is the newest version available. Do I need to download it directly from Tempel or MacUpdate?

Thanks for the quick reply and the auto-update. Another reason FAF and Tempelmann are top notch.

Grrrr... Wi-Fi on wake has gotten worse on my iMac. It never retains the network and I have to select it every time. Not happy.

Very nice and easy front-end for the best codec out there for converting multimedia files. It would be nice to have a help file with at least a quick/simple explanation of the options or at the very least the most used options but usually the general options work without change. Also, be aware that payment is in Euros so $10 is actually a bit more with conversion rates but still worth it to support the dev and their work.

Wow, thanks Dev-iffmpeg. I totally missed that. I didn't realize it was a button and expected a help window to open. Great stuff!

I am running MacJournal 5.2.8. When I check for updates it says I am up to date. Why does it not tell me there is an update or upgrade? Even if it is a paid upgrade I would like to know.
