Ugh, the 1.5.x update installs Keystone, Google's spyware/auto-update mechanism.

I prefer the Franker (https://code.google.com/p/franker/) Safari extension. It's unobtrusive, I have it set up so it appears only in the contextual menu, no toolbar icons. You can choose to translate entire pages or just selected text (for when you need just a little help with a language you're learning). It can be configured to use either Google Translate or Microsoft Translator, and it's free.

Thank you for adding #Shares, Value, Value Change, Portfolio Value and Portfolio Value Change! Makes it way more useful.

BTW, it doesn't seem to understand market index stock symbols such as ^VIX (CBoE Volatility index), ^W5000 (Wilshire 5000 index)… the only reason I'm withholding 1/2 star

@Sbchavel I tried .VIX and .^VIX -- neither worked.

How about adding columns for
* number of shares
* current value (number of shares * current price)
* $ gain/loss (number of shares * change in price)

@Paul Young
Take a look at Ticker. It does a similar job and manages to show a lot of information in a compact space (albeit by truncating long names). It still works, at least on Snow Leopard, but hasn't been updated in a long time. I'd switch to Stock Quotes if it showed the value of my portfolio.

The firmware update doesn't require 10.7. I'm on 10.6.8, launched Airport Utility and was able to download and install the firmware updates through it just fine.

A little unfriendly upgrading from 3.6.4.3: it lost all memory of "recent documents" and opened everything full screen. Fortunately it remembers the window sizes when you save and close.

On Snow Leopard (10.6.8) its Dock icon doesn't do anything when clicked on when already running but not the foreground process. Normal expected behavior is for the icon's app to come to the foreground (in its Spaces desktop if you're in a different desktop at the time).

And why no Quick Look plugin for Open Document Format docs? NeoOffice has had it for years (but it only works if NeoOffice is designated as the default app for ODF files).

Doesn't work. I used it to scan an external 1TB USB 2.0 drive mounted on a Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard with lots of available RAM. It never got past about 11% complete on the progress bar, instead constantly returning to 0% and starting over again. I quit after it was running for about 3.5 hours having gotten nowhere.

When I launch Smile it also launches Skype. If I delete Skype, Smile opens a file selection dialog on launch asking where to find Skype. Why is this happening? I'm not using any scripts to launch Smile and there's nothing in Smile's preferences that refers to Skype.

I get a blank map in ver. 3.0.0 on OS X 10.6.8, and the toolbar controls are faded out cannot be clicked. Ver. 2.9.9.1 works just fine.

NB: I don't have Flash installed (except for the plug-in that Google Chrome installs for itself). I would think Flash is only necessary for Street View, not for any of the other Google Maps functions.

Macupdate admins, please update this page to reflect that version 3.4 is available; also, the link to the developer's site is apparently wrong, it should be http://www.tarcolesfilmarts.com/software/. The developer's site says 3.4 works on Tiger and later. I can verify that it works on Snow Leopard.
