Despite "forgetting" the selectable items in the menu every time it is checked the program worked fine under 2.17. Could start my iMac (27" SSD late 2009 latest OS) and immediately had sound from my USB speakers Focal XS. - After update to 2.18 beta nothing works any more. After every reboot / startup no audio, it forces me to select all the preferred devices again.
Back to 2.17.

I spontaneously decided to try out DVDpedia today since I experienced a couple of issues with DVDHunter in the last months (very slow, wrong content shown for selected movie, delays in processing tasks, uncomfortable handling of database, faulty smart collections etc.).
Downloaded DVDpedia and everything works flawlessly. Easily imported the database that I exported with HunterExporter. Just dropped it on the DVDpedia icon. Done. Immediately it showed error free all the contents of my movie collection. Was able to create all kind of smart lists without any trouble in a jiffy. Great Mac-like experience. Definitely worth the price.

The only downer is the iPhone app that conveniently is available too.
First of all you have to pay in addition, that policy is not really up to data any more. Second it works not very nicely. I thought after the synching I will be able to survey my carefully arranged smart collections... No. All you get is the library that you can also alter a bit on your iPhone, but why would you wanna do that? Makes much more sense to import all the predefined categories too.
Well, anyway, in my opinion the DVDpedia is good work.

Only a minor cosmetic issue.
Ever since the beginning of this program it has failed to identify the correct output/input label for my devices.
I use Focal XS speakers and Samsung Meteor Mic, both through USB.
Both appear as output devices, despite marking/labeling manually the microphone as input device... Otherwise it works as it is supposed to. I successfully can deactivate the view of the other options and the preferences like volume etc are remembered after restart. No annoying switching of output device any more, convenient. Thanks.

The prefs and features read ok.
Install went easy on my iMac 27"" late 2009 with Maverick.
But the cataloguing of my media archive went forever... Never stopped spinning, I only managed to view some simple icons and a couple of spread single pics on my Panasonic Viera Plasma TV, otherwise all the other folders and paths from the directory shown in the TVs Media Server were completely empty, inaccessible.
Downer... Good it was free to try.

It worked as announced / shown on youTube, letting pop up a video from my computer on the TV, BUT it installs malware, changes preferences and extensions in your browser!
Beware! Hands off!
That should be obsolete today!

Was looking a long time for an application that would set my external USB speakers (Focal XS) and microphone (Samson) as default, enabled during start up. Nothing seemed to work. Every time I reboot/start up the default settings are gone and the internal speakers and microphone are activated. I have to do the option click on the symbol for volume in the menu bar to do so. Annoying. And you have to reduce volume first because it always is full power...
The only app that managed so far to remember my external devices is Audio Switcher 1.5.1 Spike Software, but unfortunately not reducing the volume, also here full power every time.
PTH is not stable on my system, shooting itself down regularly.
AudioSwitcher 1.35a and 1.51 beta from Serialangles is not able to remember either!

Hi! Thanks for the quick response :-)
For my purposes I would prefer if the set of external devices (no matter if sound-in/out or USB) can be defined as default / on start-up. Including the adjusted volume. Hope you will make it work.
Interestingly, on my MBP 17" 2011 10.8.3, it seemed to work (recognizing the connected USB speakers) even without any particular application in between.... Weird.

After some days testing in Northern Norway:
The animation feature is nice, but I barely use it. I have a better screen saver... :-)
Wile the degree of temperature difference to local metrological service remains small the symbols for cloud coverage are not that accurate. Had full blown storm and heavy clouds all day - symbol showed "sun". Wind speed alarm on the other side was correct despite displaying 2 times less than the measured speed.
And I have a suggestion. A correction for conditions above the Arctic Circle would be fine. A bit confusing to see the sun-symbol while the sun actually is not even above the horizon up here. The localisation based symbol for "sun under horizon" would be useful and would allow it to achieve paid app status even more.

Fantastic experience!
I tried out halv a dussin other weather applications in the recent days, but they never really were able to find the place where I live. In addition the temperatures of the alternative places around me differed a lot. Some programs even simply shot themselves down. No Mac like experience.
But this product is definitely worth the money. Quick, easy and comprehensive installation. Beautiful animation especially in full screen mode. But for me the menue bar will do. Completely satisfied so far. The only little flaw is the accuracy of the pin on the satellite map, it is placed somewhere in the middle of the Arctic Sea.
Installed on iMac 27" late 2009, latest OS.

Installed it yesterday on iMac 27" late 2009, newest OS. Compared several locations close to each other up here in Northern Norway. Difference in temperature almost 10 degrees C, local weather service survey only +/- 1 degree. Wanted to change location and the app ended up spinning in menue bar. Could not be terminated any more, had to delete and reboot... Not a Mac like experience. A pity, the first impression was not bad.
