Anyone think it's strange that Suitcase Fusion 5 doesn't include support for font auto-activation in Quark XPress 10? Did Adobe buy Extensis or something?

Anyone else find it SHOCKING that Quark 10 and Suitcase Fusion 5 release within WEEKS of each other, but Suitcase does not offer a Quark 10 font auto-activation plugin??? SERIOUSLY?

I don't need to find duplicates... I'm just looking for a fast photo-reviewing app for large photo shoots. I used to use Photon, but it's no longer in development. With some tweaking, I think this program could fit the bill. Is anyone using it for that purpose?

If you set aside the pricing/upgrade issues and look at the software on its own merits, I feel it's still a pretty great deal at 79.99. (current sale price.) I mean, I can't think of another program that gives you that much control with such a slight learning curve.

You also get the benefit of knowing the dev. isn't a fly-by-night hack who's just trying to make a buck on the Mac App store.
FotoMagico is a capable, powerful tool, updated regularly with new features and fixes. The feature set improved significantly from V3 to V4.

Do I wish it was cheaper? Sure. But I wish LOTS of things were cheaper. Do I think the dev is ripping anyone off (even previous users) by charging 79.99 -- or even 99.99? Absolutely not.

Despite the many alternative app options and even the utility baked into the OS, I find myself relying on SnapNDrag daily in both my personal and professional workflows. It's straightforward, reliable, and it just works.

I've tried SoHo Notes, but does anyone know of a note-taking/organizing program that allows manual ordering of notes within a group or folder?

Most programs offer the options of sorting by creation date, by edit date, or by title (alphabetically), but don't allow true ordering capability.

A simple example - I have a group of notes titled WEEKLY, and there are 7 notes in that group - Sunday, Monday, etc.

But I cannot arrange the days-of-the-week notes in order - I'm locked into sorting options that don't apply.

Is there a note organizing program that actually allows you to ORGANIZE your notes?

Help, MacUpdate!

Good idea, Foxyorb. But it would be unwieldy and certainly inconvenient if I had to do that every single time I wanted to order a folder of notes or information. The app MyNotes has always allowed manual ordering, but it appears the dev has retired the program.

I know with Evernote tagging, I'm not supposed to NEED to prioritize my information to locate it, but the fact is, just being able to FIND it isn't an organizational system. That's the cost of entry for any kind of library utility.

I'd like a better way to MANAGE all my notes and information.

Over on the DevonNote page, Macupdate user OldMiller recently pointed out that all the Devon programs allow manual sorting of folders and notes within them. This was news to me (as the options were not obvious on previous demos of that software.)

I'm now a very content DevonThink Personal User.

Can anyone tell me why Evernote won't allow the same functionality?! It seems like with their upcoming push into Business/Corporate use, it's more important than ever for people to be able to arrange and file their information just the way it's supposed to be, as opposed to creating a large, random pool of data.

(Thank you, Devon, for letting me choose how to sort my info!)

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY...

Oldmiller, you have just shifted my paradigm in a very positive way. I can't THANK YOU enough!

How long has Devon offered that functionality???

After installing the December 2011 update, this program was totally broken - all previous entries lost. I used Time Machine to save the day, but although I offered to help troubleshoot the issue, the dev never responded.

This week, I tried to contact him one last time re: any potential update for Mountain Lion. But the Mishimo website is down, and e-mail gets bounced back undelivered.

Bummer. This was a nice little program.

And if anyone's reading this and takes pity on me, the thing I'll miss MOST about MyNotes is the manual ordering of notes within a group or folder.

Nobody else does this. Not Evernote, SoHo Notes, Devon Note... Nobody. But MyNotes ALWAYS did.

Most programs offer the options of sorting by creation date, by edit date, or by title (alphabetically), but don't allow true ordering capability.

So... is there any other note organizing program that actually allows you to ORGANIZE your notes?

Trying to download the libdvdcss.2.dylib file for Mac OS 10.6.8, but the official VLC link is currently dead: http://download.videolan.org/libdvdcss/last/macosx/

Is there an alternate link you recommend?

I just purchased a Logitech Revolution Wireless Mouse (the one from a couple years ago that has better reviews than the newer models). But at Amazon, the consensus is that the drivers stink and to just run USB Overdrive, instead. (a shame, as I already own SteerMouse).

Reviews here are so overwhelmingly negative that I'm actually AFRAID to install the Logitech Control Center on my system! Isn't that CRAZY? These guys are the big leagues. I'd have thought they could at least sub-contract the work out to generate some solid code to run their (admittedly awesome) hardware.

In VisualHub, there was a DVD setting that created a .ISO file which could easily be burned to DVD (by Roxio's Toast, for instance.) That setting in VisualHub also allowed me to choose NTSC or PAL formatting for the DVD I was authoring.

Is there a comparable setting in iVideo Converter that allows me to drop in a video file and convert it to a .ISO file for easy burning to DVD?

If not, why not? And what other video converter (besides VisualHub) offers .ISO creation?

Thank you for your help! MacUpdate RULES.

Follow up: The developer was super fast responding to my e-mail, answering my questions and even putting one of my suggestions on tap for a future update. iVC doesn't have the specific (VisualHub replicating) functionality I was looking for, but I bought a license and I'm very impressed with both the software and the developer so far. Highly Recommended!!!
