[Version 2.3]

Pretty good product, simple and does what it is supposed to do, but there are 3 annoyances that need to be changed...

1) App should retain window position from last use
2) App should retain window size from last use
3) Give the user the ability to scan alternate subnets

Nice try, but it just doesn't work. It paired fine with my iPhone 5, but refuses to lock my MacBook Air when the phone is out of range or if the phone's Bluetooth is turned off.

Hi Alex,
Yes, the phone does move around. Like I said, it does seem to be communicating with the phone. If I turn off Bluetooth, the phone will zip off the screen to the upper right corner. As for the preferences being open, I made that assumption and purposely did my testing with the preferences closed.

MacBook Air running 10.8.3
iPhone running iOS 6.1.2

I wouldn't think it should matter, but the iPhone has been Jailbroken.

Hey Mozilla, bigger numbers does not make for better software!

Nice concept and a nifty little tool, but needs work. I immediately ran into window refreshing issues when resizing the file viewer window... the window title mirrored itself multiple times across the windows' resize process. Interface could stand a bit o polish too, its navigation is not readily apparent and could be a bit of a challenge for the novice.

WOW, unadulterated crap! How is this junk software even allowed to be in the App Store? It's a nice idea and would be great, IF IT WORKED!

Aside from some minor glitchy interface behavior, CrashPlan is a fairly simple backup utility. I successfully created a backup from 2 Macs and 1 PC to an external drive on a third Mac. My biggest complaint with this software, is it's speed. This thing is slow as molasses on an internal Gigabit network. I'm seeing consistent speeds of about 30Mb/sec (that's Megabits, not MegaBytes). Backing up 140GB from one drive to another, on the same machine, will take approximately 10 hours. Backing up 145GB from one machine to a second machine will take a "supposed" 56 days at a whopping 270Kb/sec.

I'm not sure how it's doing it's backup, but it certainly is NOT taking advantage of my Gigabit backbone network.

I know someone who signed up for the Crashplan monthly service, they have a Verizon DSL connection, which is inherently slow anyway. They successfully backed up approximately 75Gigs of information, but it took well over a month to complete.

Nice idea and would really be a handy tool, but it needs work. Ideally, I'd like to see this as a Menu Extra instead of an application though. Right now it does not maintain the history through a Quit of the application. Also, it prompts you every time to work offline vs synced online, every time the application starts. That should be a preference setting, set once and not asked each time. It should also maintain clippings for other items other than just text, as well.

A nice start for ver 1.0.

Does not play well with Windowshade. :(

Would be nice instead of calling up a lock screen, to have it lock the screen but energize the screen saver. I would much rather see that, than a static lock or blanked screen.

The first half of that segment, with the RSSI value of 50, was when Bluetooth was on. The second half, with the RSSI value of 127 started when I turned off the phones Bluetooth. But it just keeps repeating the same segments over and over, and never locks the Mac.

Also, if I manually lock the Mac from GA and turn on the phones Bluetooth, it will not unlock the Mac.

The "Restore Defaults" option seemed to work. It is now locking and unlocking the screen, as it should.

Here is the contents of the settings file, before I restored defaults...

Djcz replied on 29 May 2013
Sorry about that, but I copied from Textedit and pasted into the reply window. Everything looked fine, until I hit submit. MacUpdate was nice enough to strip out all that extra "fluff" for me... thanks MU.

Anyway, I sent an email to the main support@ address and put it to your attention. The email contains the full contents of the settings file, before defaults were restored.

Ever since I've upgraded, I've had an issue with Adium autocorrecting text. I wouldn't mind so much if it got it right, but it's ALWAYS wrong and it's always something crazy. I've looked for a setting to turn this off, but can't seem to find anything. Does anyone know how to fix this?

AH! That was it, found it! Nice! Thank you Misha! I never would have thought to right click the word and change the setting there. Although, I have no idea how that setting would have magically turned itself on, but it's fixed now.

Also, the uninstaller does not remove everything. It leaves Preferences, Application Support files and several other files that need to be weeded out, as well as a restart or two, before Mr. Jiggles stops doing its thing.

My system is a 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo MBP, running OS 10.5.8 with 4 gigs of RAM.

There is a bug in the installer. If your account is Filevaulted, the installer squawks that it can't find a needed disk. It then sits there patiently waiting, but there is nothing you can do and it won't let you quit normally, so you need to force quit the installer application.

The error I'm seeing...

Please insert the "xyz" disc to continue installation.
You have chosen to install software that requires this disc.

I've never seen an installer behave like that, but the workaround did the trick..... silly me, for not taking an hour or so, to search the knowledgebase for a problem that shouldn't have occurred in the first place.

But, I do appreciate the response. Thank you!

When you click on the date and time to see the pop-down calendar, the calendar updates properly, but the date above the calendar does not. Today is 09/22 and it's saying it is Monday, September 21, 2009.

As for menu indicators... for the disk activity, instead of "ACT", I'd like to see "DSK" added as an option. ACT could refer to disk activity, network activity or cpu activity.

Also, for the network activity, there are only icons that can be placed in the menu, a "NET" added to the list would be great.

Other than that, this little gadget is great. Kudos to iSlayer!

It takes 2 clicks on the Quick Download button to get it to actually download a file. Also, it's a real time waster to have to click through all the individual pictures and having to click the download button for each one. It would be nice to be able to just download "ALL" files at one time, then go through all the files offline and delete the ones you do not want.
