Have been a die hard Firefox user since before switching to mac from Windblows.
But am concerned with mozilla's terrible customer support and releasing faulty versions lately that crash and hang. I pray this gets fixed as I don't want to use safari or opera substandard browsers.

Just want to thank the kind person who emailed me the Firefox downgrade software access link earlier this week. I wanted to thank yo sooner but was unable to reach MacUpdate due to ongoing 27.0.1 constantly crashing but just now I've seemed to have discovered a temporary solution. I used the free program iBoostup which scanned my Internet setting and suggested I make some subtle changes to my Macs Intranet DNS settings. I just did as suggested and walla Firefox just stopped crashing! I'm so grateful right now.

Have been using about a year with paid subscription and had a lot of trouble with older version until they upgraded it for mac 4 months ago. now it works better but recently my Firefox browser started crashing during closing so I ran it in safe mode and that fixed it but when I started HotSpot Shield and turned it off before closing Firefox the problem came right back so It's HotSpot that's causing that's preventing Firefox from closing! Hotspot's tech help is atrocious so don't even bother to email them they want you to do all the work before they'll lift a finger to help. Something I hate about them is they attempt to censor/block webpages that they deem dangerous or phishing & that's nice for newbies and kids but I don't want a net nanny with a vpn service and there's no way to turn that service off! Bottom line Hotspot Shield is only good for newbies who don't know what they're doing or windows users. Otherwise It's an unstable mess that should be avoided at all costs.

I just got word that Koingo Software
is selling Macpilot 6 and MacCleanse 4 to a new company and Discontinuing these products for 2014 according to its new CEO Thomas Anthony in a newsletter sent to to me! So MacUpdate was correct all along to advise its customers not to do business with Koingo Software. I'm glad I didn't drink the the Macpilot 6 koolaid in late 2013 and waste more $$. I wish I could say the same for MacCleanse 4!

Yes I apologize for overreacting with anger. If this post can be deleted please go ahead and do so or I will try and write more fair and balanced review soon.

I purchased this a few months back after having major trouble with Sophos and and a few other mac antivirus programs finding viruses and not doing anything about them!
Intego is constantly crashing my entire 2007 iMac with Mavericks. Even though I turn off the the damn auto scan Intego antivirus Ignores Its own commands and continues to automatically scan my mac once a month and when it does the whole system crashes! This App is an Abysmal failure!
I can't believe I paid for this CRAP!

I've been using OnyX for 5 years and only had a few start-up problems with OSX 10.8 that went away completely after a few restarts.

OnyX has saved me tons of headaches and $$$ with crazy OSX bugs that elude other utilities.
Highly recommended! Do however read the Help files that come with OnyX as they are essential to the proper operation of OnyX especially for newbies.

WARNING: Try uninstalling on imac running osx 10.8.3 and left with self replicating trojan like file called bzbmenu that keeps self replicating after every uninstall and deletion attempt I've made in last 7 days. deleted plist file and it keeps coming back. Process can't be terminated and it attempts to access internet every hour when online!
Tech Help from company is good but after three emails they haven't been able to help me get rid of this malware. Don't download this program if you plan to uninstall it!

Update: Backblaze happens to have the some of the best customer service tech help I've ever received and they did help me uninstall and rid my mac of the bzbmenu problem after all. I wish I could delete my earlier post and give Backblaze 4 stars because they deserve it.

From what I can remember Winzip was one of the most reliable Windows utilities for many years. Although I've been a dedicated mac convert for the past 6 years I never once had a problem with Winzip software. They where a great company and I'm very happy to see them up and running on the OSX platform.

Used VirusBarrier for a few years and found its Interface very confusing. Its Supposed to run in the background but will constantly bug you to update, (seems it can't update on Its own) and, most annoying was always nagging me to upgrade its to more expensive useless features that at one time were free. Thanks but no thanks. VirusBarrier is to Mac what Norton and MCcaffee are to PC: $100.00 year worthless Upgrades that muck up your hard drive.
