I was looking for a simple solution for DJ, Karaoke and video mixing, basically and all-in-one solution that had a simple screen that was user friendly. There are other decent MAC apps for DJing, a couple basic one's for karaoke, but nothing that did everything I wanted. I just downloaded this trial version of aria yesterday and so far have come away surprisingly impressed.

I couldn't initially figure out how to bring in songs, but located the add favorite function that let me import all my music folders. So this was easier then I think I was trying to make it. There are three modes, DJ/Karaoke and Scratch mode. While I'll be mainly using the DJ and KJ modes for my events, but the scratch mode is fun for just messing around. You can even scratch videos, which can be both fun and funny depending on what part of the video you try to scratch. DJ mode had all the necessities, but nothing else, which made it very easy to navigate. The Right click beat match feature works very well for 4-4 type tracks, and most songs with a solid beat/BPM. Karaoke mode has the on-deck singers list, as well as key control and even a mic input (although I'll be using this with my own vocapro external mixer for pro use). It also seems you can record your mix and voice if you want.

They also have the karaoke locker build in karaoke store - which looks to have around 10,000 files available for purchase in the app. I've only bought 2 songs that I needed so far, but they downloaded immediately and was playing. I could see this being very handy if your on a gig and have wifi. You can get what you need for the odd request.

For $79 I honestly feel this is a great buy for Mobile DJ's and beginners/hobbyists. I'm already looking forward to the updates.
