This seems like a nice piece of software being marketed by the scum of the earth. The recently included Disk Drill Pro in Stack Social's Spring Bundle. Unknown to the buyers who were told this was the Pro version, they released the upgrade during the time the bundle was available without telling customers or Stack Social that people were purchasing EXPIREWARE.

The program has a nagware presumptive upgrade feature that replaces the licensed version with the "Demo" version (Basic) which is what you are looking at now.

People who will cheat you and mislead you shouldn't be trusted with your precious data, as you have no idea what they will do or say and what is true.

You will notice that many other users have issues with this company's less than ethical business practices.

Buyer Beware!

SO, HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THIS:

Dear David,

I regret to say that the customers purchased Disk Drill as a part of
the bundle are not eligible for free upgrade.

Please note that before pressing "Install" button you could read the
following in DD installation window:
http://www.cleverfiles.com/releases/auto-update/dd-newestr.html

If you are not planning to upgrade your copy of Disk Drill, please
download version 1.x of the product here:

Because I did email you and this is the response I got.. which is deeply at variance with what you are saying..

Yes, I did. I have been so upset that I haven't really done anything with it though. So, the rating needs to be changed but I don't know what it should be without using it. I would edit this rating based on the fact that you did come through.. and that is good but only because I made a stink.

I don't know how to edit the original post to reflect the current state of affairs. But, after filing a BBB complaint and shaming you in this thread, I was able to get what I thought I had purchased, and I deeply appreciate that.

I also appreciate the fact that it is incredibly difficult to build up a good reputation and upset customers saying negative things really hurt. I am deeply glad that Cleverfiles has someone following this thread to set things right.. and believe me.. that is a good thing.
