I concur with the previous reviewers. In my experience, Arq has been the best backup solution for me in terms of ease of use, intuitive interface, and reliability. I had been looking at other possible solutions for backing up to Amazon S3 servers and Arq was by far the finest for my needs and preferences.

Although there isn't much to do to get up and running, Arq does allow users to set preferences accordingly. For example, network preferences can be set to "maximum," "automatic," or "fixed (by user)" transfer rates.

Another great feature included in Arq is a "Budget" setting, which ensures you don't go over a monthly rate for storage (not bandwidth, however, which is free until June 2010). Just enter your monthly budget and Arq will indicate how many gigs you'll be able to store at that price.

As the developer Stefan points out, Arq is like Time Machine for remote backups. That's an apt analogy and an efficient way of doing backups of your most important files.

Although the price point is slightly higher than other products out there, the product is top notch and using AWS you'll end up saving money on storage over time. Highly recommended.

$40 for this? There are plenty of other alternatives with the same functions that cost far less. I'm very happy with iNotepad, which cost under $15 I recall. This is way overpriced, even if it includes a few extras.

Great to see this out so fast but I can't seem to get it to load. Dowloaded latest SIMBL and installed. Then added SS. /library/app support/simbl/plugins

Did I miss something?

Thanks. But that did not work either. The ST bundle should load automatically, right?

I downloaded SIMBL .0.9.5.b. But the actual file says it's 0.9.4. So I downloaded it again, ran uninstall, and reinstalled. Same thing. Guess I should try to find the real 0.9.5b

Thank again for the prompt replies and help.

Downloaded SIMBL from both MU and Mike's page. No go. Something is preventing it from loading the bundles or the OS is not allowing the script to run.

I also use MacPilot and looked for any settings that may be affecting this. But am running out of ideas here. Already I have downloaded, installed, uninstalled, several times.

A long-time Stand user I would be happy to get this working. But I survived without it the past few weeks, so....

How embarrassing. Restart solved it.

Thanks for all the help!

I was bummed to learn that the current version of WM is not compatible with 10.6. But at least Dane is hard at work on it. I can't stand the configuration of the default Mail window. Thanks to Dane it's pleasant to use. Thanks, too, for the tip on how to restore the Subject column. I forgot to make the necessary changes before updating. But Dane's hint on his blog helped me to restore this functionality.

Hopefully it won't be too long before an upgrade is out.

Well worth another donation.

Planbook is one of the best applications a teacher can make use of on either the Mac or Windows platform. It has made scheduling and teaching much easier for me, and I rely on Planbook more and more for my courses. The developer is helpful and responsive. He also has a clear vision of where he wants the application to go in terms of future development. As a teacher himself, Jeff is able to approach the application of technology from a very practical perspective. Pricing is more than fair for such a useful bit of educational software.

Beta 4 is giving me problems. Can't log into either Google account. Just crashes. I understand this is beta software but...

Although I purchased a license from Macgamestore, every time Scrabble is opened it prompts me to purchase it. Three messages to the Macgamestore but no reply. Love the game; very disappointed with the registration mess. Never has happened with any other software purchased online.

Any ideas?

I really would like to use this beta version (perpetual beta) but it often has problems accessing the Yahoo server and will never receive a cross platform webcam broadcast.

Thus, I have to resort to 2.5.3, which is just so much harder to look at.

Will this ever be updated and will it work properly?

Great little application, especially since OmniWeb and gmail don't work well together.

I did notice, however, that after upgrading to 10.4.9 that it doesn't work anymore. Opens up fine, but everything is blank in the window.

Hope there'll be a fix soon. Or should I be deleting plist files?

This is a great application. I plan on installing it ion our college language lab computers. With modifications, LiveDictionary can be used in conjunction with FLN, allowing for popup definitions in various languages.

It would be great to see further development. The "show pinyin" and speed control are welcome recent developments. I would love a simple way of saving vocabulary terms into a lexicon or list for later review.

For now, however, I'm very pleased with this.
