Excellent App. With every Mac I have purchased over the past few years, Menu Meters is one of the first "must have" apps I download.

I really appreciate the developer for providing this app and continuing to do so for free. Outstanding!

I am not cheap and have absolutely *NO* problem paying for any software that has perceived value. I had no problem paying for Tiger Cache Cleaner and have upgraded that to Snow Leopard Cache Cleaner. I would have no problem paying for Onyx if the charged for it as it does a ton for its low, low price of free. I wouldn't have any problem paying for Cocktail either. So making a purchase based on the value of the software is not a problem.

What *is* a problem is that Snow Leopard Cache cleaner does a whole lot more than Main Menu for $14.95, Cocktail also does a whole lot more than Main Menu and is likewise $14.95, Onyx too does a whole lot more than Main Menu and is free of charge.

I would be willing to pay somewhere between $5 - $10 for Main Menu if it offered something of value beyond the still working FREE 1.7.4 version, which still works fine for me.

Sadly, there is nothing of value over the free version. Particularly there is absolutely nothing worth a $20 increase in price when far better software is available for less.

I thought this would be a really cool program. I was always curious about which settings I used most, which lens, focal length, etc. I had my ideas, but I wanted to know for sure. Unfortunately the program only seems to read metadata from .jpg files and ignores RAW, .TIF and .PSD files. As a result the information given is skewed by only reading the photos I have saved in .jpg format.

I really like the concept of this program and hope that future releases will be able to read metadata from these other file formats. I am not a programmer, but perhaps a plugin that will work through Photoshop/Bridge or LR2 in order to be able to read these format?

Mac Pro, 4 hard drives all less than 6 months old. 3 Seagate / 1 Western Digital.

Smart Utility reports 3 out of 4 hard drives are failing. Guess which 3? Yep, all 3 Seagate drives are failing according to Smart Utility.

I suspect a bug in the algorithm reporting false positives for bad blocks for these drives.

1 Seagate ST31000340AS and 2 X Seagate ST3750640AS if it matters to anyone.

Tech Tools Pro 5.0.4 reports no errors on any drives for SMART check or Surface Scan. SMART reporter also reports no problems.

Hooked them up to a Windows box, SeaTools also finds zero problems.

I give it a 2 overall. Good in concept, poorly implemented.
