The download MacUpdate download link is broken, but I found it here on github:

https://github.com/robrohan/WebArchiveExtractor/downloads

I used this on an old web archive and it performed perfectly. It even ferreted out all the old css, js and ajax folders needed to render it in the index.html file.

Incredibly simple to use. Just drag and dropped the webarchive and it created a folder with all the supporting files and the index.html file.

I opened the index.html file in Safari and it looked great. Lost a few little formatting things here and there, but otherwise almost perfect.

It also converted it so fast that at first I didn't even think it had worked. It was a 30 some page long thread and converted it in the blink of an eye to html.

Great app.

The blog here: http://blog.agilebits.com/

Says:

" ... Update: A note about 1PasswordAnywhere

The one place where 1Password depends on the security of SSL/TLS is for 1PasswordAnywhere. If an attacker can control that connection, they could substitute in a malicious copy of the 1password.html file. However, at latest check, Dropbox does not appear to be affected by the Heartbleed bug, so this particular issue with SSL/TLS security is not a worry for those using 1PasswordAnywhere. However, Dropbox is reported to have been vulnerable earlier, so until Dropbox has a new certificate in place, we advise people to avoid using 1PasswordAnywhere. "

I find that confusing. Should we or should we not use 1PasswordAnywhere? Also, if we used 1PasswordAnywhere in the past before a Dropbox fix while it (is or was?) vulnerable, isn't that troublesome?

Whoops. Just realized the last (and very important) question wasn't answered.

If we used 1PasswordAnywhere in the past before the Dropbox fix, doesn't that mean that 1PasswordAnywhere could have been exploited during that time period?

And, if so, what are the possible ramifications of that situation? Couldn't that mean an attacker could have the master password and therefore, everything else accessed with 1PasswordAnywhere through an exploit of the index.html file?

If that's the case, shouldn't all 1Password users who have utilized 1PasswordAnywhere before the Dropbox fix change all of their passwords on top of changing the master password?

That's strange. I've tried to add this to 'similar software' and Macupdate refuses to accept it for some reason even though it came up in the list and I selected it.

Well, I guess I'll just link it here then:

Thanks for the reply. The strange this is I'm able to add apps at other places on Macupdate with even more alternatives already in place.

Many are no longer using Dropbox for serious, ethical reasons due to Condoleezza Rice joining their board.

Info here:
http://boingboing.net/2014/04/10/dropping-dropbox-whats-a-r.html

I am dropping Dropbox as well, but I'm concerned about its 1Password integration.

Does 1Password have the ability to sync your passwords between Mac computers and Tablets, etc. (iOS and Android) without using Dropbox and not losing any functionality?

Or, is 1Password currently only offering this with Dropbox and no alternatives?

Thank you.

WARNING: New report shows Cryptocat has too many design flaws as to be safe to use:

Check out 1.3 Findings Summary

The practical security of CryptoCat on all platforms, at time of review, is currently equivalent to a standard XMPP client without OTR and falls short of the security provided by an XMPP client with OTR.

1Password STILL doesn't allow you to add/edit passwords from an Android mobile device. It's Andriod app is read-only via Dropbox and has been that way for far too long despite the customer base begging for the desperately needed read and WRITE functionality.

Regretfully, I've been slowly migrating and moving along to a competing product that isn't adverse to being compatible and practical. If you use a computer without a phone or tablet in this day and age, this app is great. If you function like most people do in 2014, then this app is half-baked and will leave you frustrated.

If 1Password isn't careful, people are going to leave, get comfortable with more practical solutions that work properly with their mobile devices (not just computers) and will never come back.

1Password was good for me in the past, but the developers have shown horrible judgment by putting their effort into the 4.x version when they should have been working to make the 3.x version compatible with mobile devices.

By now, I would expect an Android Firefox extension for saving and loading passwords. Then one for Dolphin, etc.

Instead I have an afterthought app for Android that makes me jump through time-wasting hoops.

Not for a 50 dollar app. No. You blew it, AgileBits.

Strange, MacUpdate shows a version 2.6.12 (not beta) ready for download while softpedia's changelog shows 2.6.13 (not beta) ready for download.

But, on Dropbox's website the latest download is 2.6.7.

What gives?

Your condescension aside, I'm well aware of the nuances of releases. The problem here is MacUpdate doesn't list these releases as betas or pre-releases, experimental, stable builds, etc. Whether someone is "tech savvy" or not has nothing to do with it. MacUpdate needs to properly label the downloads. It's the professional thing to do.

Ok, froze two different Macs twice. One running 10.6.8 and another 10.9.x I'm throwing this away. They are modern, 64 bit newer Macs. I haven't had anything even quit in these Macs in years, much less freeze the entire computer. On top of that, it's spotty with syncing and tremendously slower than Dropbox (I even tested them side by side). Dropbox isn't perfect, but it has never crashed much less freeze an entire computer.

This Google Drive app is going in the trash. Google has its fingers in too many pies and is spread too thin. They obviously aren't putting enough time and resources into Google Drive on Mac.

I can't have this one app ruining productivity. TRASHED.

Yep, Google Drive is garbage. If they don't want to support 10.6.8, then they should say so instead of keeping an offering around that crashes 10.6.8.

I don't know if Google Drive will work better on my Mac running 10.9.2 Mavericks, but I'm not going to take that chance at the risk of crashing the system and losing data.

Dropbox has had issues with crashing the Finder for people, but I've never heard of it doing anything this horrible.

Anything that crashes an entire OS like Google Drive does isn't worth my time, because it's obvious that the developers don't think it's worth their time to write decent code in the first place.

Literally nothing else crashes my Macs. Nothing. They run for literally for years without crashing. Also, I have not reason to trust that Google won't snoop through my files and/or hand them over the NSA on a silver platter anyway, so it's probably just as well that Google Drive stays the heck off my machines anyway.

I should note, I've tested Google Drive on both 10.6.8 and 10.9.0 and 10.9.1.

I haven't tested with 10.9.2, but I'm done with having my productivity trashed because the Google Drive developers obviously can't code their way out of a wet paper bag.

I'm done.

I've found that Fantastical doesn't play nice with LaunchBar's clipboard history. If I try to bring up something from the LB clipboard while I'm trying to label an even within Fantastical, the Fantastical window disappears after I depress "command-" to pull up the LB clipboard.

Found an issue with Snapz Pro 2.3.2 and DockView 1.5.5. When I have a window in another Space and move over the application that harbors the window in the Dock in another space and then highlight the window with the preview image generated by Dockview, (which makes the window preview screenshot show up in my current space) Console repeatedly says "12/8/11 11:20:37 PM [0x0-0x10010].com.ambrosiasw.snapz[236] Thu Dec 8 23:20:37 MacBook-Pro-4.local Snapz Pro X[236] : kCGErrorInvalidOperation: _CGSFindSharedWindow: WID 2319"

It's says this over and over again until I stop hovering over the window and the preview image is gone from my current space.

Snapz also seems to interfere with DockView in other ways but I'm still investigating that.

I've investigated this further and it doesn't require the image being in another space to get this these errors. You can actually make console fill up with those same Snapz errors by just hovering over anything in the Dock with a window and moving your mouse.

And then hundreds of these error will fill the the console:

brenty, 1Password seems to work fine especially with the latest 3.8.8 version of the extension.

Overall, I'm very happy I upgraded to 5.1.2. But then again, I'm not not using Lion either.

Just a head's up that you guys should really change the command-K shortcut for logins. It conflicts with command-k in textedit to insert links and command-k for several other apps including the Finder for connecting to servers and QuickTime 7 for pulling up A/V controls.

I cleared it out of 1Password in the preferences, but I had to look at my console to figure out what was causing me to lose command-K in all these apps.

Others who might not know to look in their console would just be stuck. You should change the default to something else and/or make it not conflict with other apps.

After updating from 10.5 to 10.6.6, Broadcaster 1.5.3 simply dissapeared from my computer. All the settings were still there, but no app... poof!

So I reinstalled it and it now works but the icon was invisible, so I dragged it out of the Dock and then did "killall Dock" in Terminal (without the quotes) and all seems well and all the previous settings are in tact.

Just thought I'd put this in here so if it happens to anyone else.
