Sometimes the little details make the difference between total uselessness and perfect software for the user's needs. I use BeeDocs Timeline, that has a lot of nice multimedia features and creates nice presentations, but it's almost useless if you're working for printed media. For example: I can't move the events from the main timeline at will, I can't make vertical timelines, I can't place events below the row, I can't write alternate text on the time fields, and I can't even fix the available workspace in order to automatically fit my timeline into one, two or more sheets of paper (or a custom size). TimeFlyer gives me control of all this basic printing needs. In the end, all that matters to me is that I'm able to make my timeline took the way I need and not the way the software believes it should be. I must say that I would like some improvements in usability, and it should upgrade soon (it's recently added to the AppStore, so I believe the software is still under development), but it costs $9.99 and it gives me more control over my timeline than the $60 BeeDocs Timeline.
