I love it and restores faith in MS after languishing for years after the release of Office 2011 and the dismemberment of Mac Business Group but it needs some critical features that are present in the Windows version. Most notably is password security on a page level and a "shelf" or hovering window to get content in from other programs. Otherwise, I'm thrilled to see it on the Mac!

It's a good app and I use it but it's lacking one important feature and has one annoying UI element which I can't stand.

The feature I want is simple password security, a timed lockout of the app when I get up to eat dinner and forget to hide it from my family's prying eyes. I don't need encryption just a simple cover for my work I can set to a timer such as 3 minutes.

The UI element I really don't like is the Take Note window which is transparent black. This is horribly difficult to read and type in and serves no actual purpose except to look ugly. Please, Mr. Developer redesign the Take Note window to be a nice looking, well formatted standard grey window. Thanks!

I love this program and I've been using it for years but since Mavericks came out the ability to remove the dock icon has been lost. This is a major problem for me and I've stopped using the program because of it. There hasn't been a meaningful update in years (just bug fixes, etc.) so I'm wondering if development has stopped. I wish the developer would be more forthcoming on his plans.

Minus 1 star for not being able to hide the dock icon. Otherwise it's a five star program.

MacJournal is wonderful, I've been using it for many years but I'm starting to wish for a real update. It's been a l-o-n-g time since the last major update and the interface is looking a bit out-of-date. I wish MJ would take some interface cues from Evernote which looks really good but I don't use because I refuse to use cloud services for private information. Plus Evernote doesn't have anywhere near the features of MJ such as timed locking, encryption, wifi sync, text tools, blogging and much more. I love it, but please update!

Tap Forms is great. I bought it and I've been using the new version intensely for the past couple of days. It very closely resembles the functionality of Bento (but without all the hideous themes) and is a rational, functional database for personal use.

Overall, the app is very well designed but has a some dark sides. It has some interface bugs, not critical, or data related, but the interface could use some refinement and bug testing. The biggest problem for me is the lack of WiFi syncing. For many reasons I absolutely refuse to use the "cloud" for sensitive data such as passwords or other sensitive information. So cloud syncing is wasted on me. I want private network syncing which doesn't involve any cloud. Give me that and this would be a nearly perfect personal database.

Thanks for the update. WiFi sync would be most welcome. Otherwise, I really love your app, well conceived and executed, just wish I could sync it with my phone. Happy New Year!

I like it but I'd love to see a Safari clipping extension to quickly add content from the web. Other than that it's great!

I don't think I've been this happy with an OS update since 9.1. I've been a very harsh critic of many OS X updates in the past but this one has really pulled it all together and is a mature, seasoned OS lacking all the stupid gimmickry of the John Forstall era. I like it very, very much and I also like the new iWork suite as well.

RavenNevermore, I disagree, while perhaps the unix foundation of OS X is superior to OS 9 in every way, the quality user experience, interface and applications have not equaled OS 9.1 until now, IMHO. I've been using OS X since the early developer previews and, like so many others, gleefully ignored it's many rough edges and faults because I was taken in by candy buttons and genie effects. OS 9.1 had an extremely refined UI, a rational gimmick free design and a timeless feel which I still yearn for today.

Yet another meaningless update and no bug fixes. It particularly gets my goat that a bug with recurring tasks in Outlook hasn't been fixed for years now. This company is on the edge of a cliff, beware.

Since I can't download a trial version but it looks intriguing enough to leave this comment so here it is. Needs two features for me to be interested enough to buy:

1) trial version
2) WiFi syncing

Otherwise looks solid and a good alternative to 1Password and Wallet, both of which are either too much or too little for my needs.

After spending more quality time with this app I have to retract my comment above that it's bare-bones for the price. Not only is the interface polished and very clearly thought out, but the features one expects in this type of app are there and nicely executed. So I was wrong in jumping to any conclusion about that.

Yet, my comment that it should be priced lower stands. This isn't due to a lack of value, it's due to a sense that an app like this, in a crowded field, should compete on price when in the development stage to get people interested. Just my humble opinion....

That said, I do have some feature requests:

- an iPhone app
- WiFi syncing
- An input "tray" which lets a user easily add items from other apps.

Overall, the app is highly refined and surprisingly full featured for v1.0.
