I'm a private Macintosh Consultant in the San Francisco Bay area and work with individuals and small offices and home offices.

I was repairing computers when I was in the Marine Corps before Steve Jobs was in kindergarten.

I'm an old guy but surprisingly competent with new technology.

I'm a private, certified, Macintosh Consultant and have been recommending SuperDuper! for years.

Aside from being the best backup utility that clones your hard drive to a backup drive, allows you to set your backup to a schedule, does an incremental backup etc. It is the rapid support which sets SuperDuper! apart from similar products, like, CCC, CarbonCopyCloner.

When there has been a problem, the backup drive is full, some permission got set wrong, or what ever has stopped the utility from functioning properly, I look at the log and if I don't understand it, click the button which says, "Send to SuperDuper!" and I ALWAYS get an email response within an hour, often within minutes. This is invaluable!

SuperDuper! is acknowledged by most of us private Macintosh consultants, members of the Apple Consultants Network and other similar organizations, as the superior backup utility, authored by one of the smartest guys in the Apple universe.

It's advantage over Time Machine and other backup systems is that the file structure is exactly the same as on your internal hard drive (it is a clone!). If you're traveling, instead of taking your iMac with you, take your SD back up drive and start another Mac from that drive and it becomes your computer. Use it to do the things that you normally do. Change and save documents, do your work, and when you come home do a reverse SD backup and your home computer will reflect all of the changes you made while traveling. Fabulous.

I've been using iBiz for probably 6 or 8 years and I hate it and feel trapped, but I'm now going to bite the bullet and migrate to different billing software.

If it worked, it would be OK, but it often freezes at least for a minute or two of the spinning beach ball, after which it sometimes crashes and sometimes continues on, but basically it is very unstable.

When ever I make a change in the Address Book entry of one of my clients, it will crash iBiz. I've had client records switch to other clients.

Tech support is nonexistent.
I try to be in conversation with IGG, and they make promises, but have no solutions.

My recommendation is clearly to stay away from iBiz.

I've been using this crappy software for 6 or 8 years now and can't get out of it! All my business records are in iBiz and can't be exported.

When it works, it's OK; keeps track of my clients, what I did for them and what they owe me and makes and sends out reasonable invoices, but the damn thing crashes about 2 or 3 times a day and the IGG tech support is non-existent.

I hate to give Vermonters a bad review but this is awful software.
