The Virtual CD-RW burns to bin/cue images but can also mount .iso and .cdr images.

I should also mention that there is still a lot of DRM protected music out there, and we have thousands of customers per year still for our DRM Dumpster software, that will make use of a Virtual CDRW if it is mounted instead of a real CDRW.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation being posted by folks that don't understand the technical details of this problem.

First and foremost, you cannot just track and delete files. Modern browsers store information in SQL databases and you need to extract ans save some data into a new SQL database to save important things, like bookmarks, and then overwrite the original file.

Second, some agencies, the Department of Energy, as an example, mandate a specific overwrite standard. Apple's overwrites (secure empty trash) does not comply with these government standards and so those agencies cannot use Apple's software. Many citizens who are not members of those mandated organizations also like to use their standards.

Third, private browsing does not take plugins into account. NetShred X allows you to configure any application and any location to overwrite (see the custom processes feature) so you can clean up after your plugins.

The list goes on. But I think you get the idea.

As a bit of information for everyone, for small libraries (< 30 protected tracks) DRM Dumpster for Mac OS X is FREE to use. Simply use the demo mode.

In addition, if you cannot afford the license fee please contact us directly to work something else out. While we need funds to ensure development continues, we are very flexible with respect to individual circumstances.

As I have indicated in the past, the best thing to do for all issue is to not hesitate to contact us directly.

Somebody, on that other software directory, posted some FUD about iTunes 7.3 applying DRM to re-imported files. This is also *not* the case. DRM Dumpster works fine with iTunes 7.3. Please, please, ignore comments from people who have not actually (as was this case) tried the software. If you do have a problem please contact me directly - so far I have managed to solve any problems brought directly to my attention. Finally if the problem cannot be solved you will certainly get your money back so don't be concerned about that.

Tested with iTunes 7.2.

Somehow some people think its not working with iTunes 7.2 but I have fully tested and it is working fine with iTunes 7.2.

So if you have a problem please contact me directly as it can surely be fixed if you send me your log output.
