I am a longtime user (3+ years) of Playback. It is the only app of it's kind worth buying, and trust me I have tried them all. I have a Mac Pro 2009 with about 4 TB of media stored and an Xbox 360 and PS3 and iPhone 4S that I watch media on. This is soo easy to use and I use it almost on a daily basis to watch movies and tv shows from my computer. The reason that I am writing this review now is that I had a small issue when upgrading to the most recent version (1.8.14). My Xbox stopped being able to see Playback, but my PS3 and iPhone servers were working fine. I had also just started port forwarding with my Mac Pro to be able to VNC connect from work and my iPhone on the road. I knew it had to be an issue with one of those. I searched the internet (and specifically this website) for a solution. I was pretty sure it wasn't the update, just a coincidence that I happened to upgrade the same day. While here, I saw a ton of dumb reviewers bashing this product for no good reason. Mostly user error caused by their network or stupidity in general. To make an extremely long story short, I was going to finally e-mail their customer service for help when I went through their forums on their website one last time and found a post for someone with a very similar problem and the help they posted lead me to my fix, I just didn't allow the port the Xbox was on to see my new IP address. Easy fix but was driving me crazy!!! I want to comment their developers and others that our on their forums for they always seem to respond quickly and resolve most problems. So again, long story short....best $15 I have ever spent on software.
