It's amusing to see the comments about how 'non-mac' the interface is... and how non-ready the application itself is.

I use it professionally for photoediting, creating the graphics for websites and magazines.... and in combination with Scribus, you can produce masters for printing that are totally indistinguishable from what you get from InDesign.

The only thing holding back the GIMP right now - is the lack of serious colourspaces and depths - and the ability to work with real HDR imagery. And the lack of CMYK is why you pair it with Scribus to generate a print-ready CMYK PDF.

Some of us mac users live and work in the real world and the interface doesn't really matter as long as the tool delivers the goods that the client wants....
