I think I like Acorn 4 very much. I might use it over Pixelmator now.

This has got to be the most non-greedy dev I've never bought a product from. Years that have gone by while the app has been in 2.x with free upgrades. You can't really get better than that, and LS 2 was an excellent product.

Now with version 3 it gets even better. The completely redesigned network monitor is actually quite nice. Currently it has no retina support, so it looks really fuzzy. However, I do suspect that an update will be coming soon that will fix that.

One thing I miss is the option to hover over the status bar icon and have the network monitor drop down, but the dev stated on Twitter that this is coming back!

Oh, and another small touch that I love is that now there's an option to have a monochromatic icon in the status bar.

Silent mode is also really nice, for when you're playing games and don't want a popup to ruin your kill streak.

Overall an excellent upgrade, and it hasn't even left beta yet. Good job ObDev!

Well, I really like this app. I wanted an alternative to Candy Bar mostly because Candy Bar can't search for apps and it takes ages to scroll through my list of apps looking for the one I want to change.

When I was using it seemed to work well, and didn't crash like others were saying.

However, when I went to restore a lot of icons, the app hung for a while then crashed, and after I launched it again and hit restore it only did a partial job, leaving quite a number of my apps (including system ones!) with botched icons. Unfortunately it's gonna have to remain that way because it crashed during the restore process. :/ Waiting for Lion so I can get a fresh reinstall of my apps so they look decent at least. Please, dev, if you can see this try to make your restore process stable or something! It really is a hassle to fix this mess. =)

Acorn 3 doesn't look different compared to Acorn 2, but it has a lot more under the hood. My favorite new feature is the layered screen capture; I see lots of use for that in the future. Great work Flying Meat, keep up the awesome work!

Only suggestion I wish for would be the option to resize a selection, but I'm sure that can come in an update.

I just discovered this the other day, and I love it. It works quite nicely with my GeekTool setup. The developer is also very responsive to suggestions. Great buy.
