Elgato's EyeTV seems to be in a holding pattern. Minor bugs are fixed whilst glaring craches and usability problems are ignored. Support answers quickly, but is generally of little help.

User forums were shut down a while ago for no good reason whatsoever, there has been no new hardware for EyeTV for ages, there is no Freeview HD hardware at all.

All they have produced recently is stuff for iOS, hard drives and cables. I wouldn't be surprised if this company died soon.

Unfortunately, I see no good alternatives either!

Sneaky. You have to download their commercial software to get the free stuff? I'm not happy with that.

Annoyingly, would not add the GPS info to my Photos! Everything else was perfect. Darn!

My apologies, I though I had already posted a retraction. The issue turned out to be permissions, the pics off of my camera have weird permission settings for some reason. It would be nice if there was an error message though.

Otherwise, I am now using this app regularly, I tried them all and this was the easiest to use.

I have an Intel machine running Leopard. With my camera plugged in it bounces for a while in the dock then falls over. Without it launches fine, and then crashes as soon as the camera is plugged in. I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ20.

So much better than the software that cam with my modem. I use this with '3' in the UK. The only problem is if the modem disconnects because of a bad signal, the software doesn't detect this that well. A re-launch has always fixed the problem for me.

Spotlight doesn't work nearly so well as this little app for quickly finding and displaying contact info. The only thing missing is a quick 'Enter' to go to address book - you have to click on the name instead.

No, I am having the same problems, a disk image inside a disk image? Why? And I have never once got it to run.
