Diabetes is a chronic disease with no short-term hope for a cure. Therefore, to use such a tool diabetics have to be prepared to manually enter a significant amount of data each and every single day of their life. Nowadays, many glycometers and insulin delivery systems (pumps) record these data and can connect to computers for downloading these data. Until this program is able to communicate with such devices, or import data collected through another software (most providers propose some kind of web tool), there is very little use for such a program, which is not much more than a sophisticated spreadsheet to ease the life of patients or caregivers.

I was going to comment on the app but you sum up very well what I found trying the app. I love the feature allowing the addition of notes to files, but it should be easier to bring them up (as mentioned above). Other than that, lots of potential, just not very practical as of yet. But please keep going!

I've been using Chronories for a while and am pleasantly surprised to find myself sticking to the habit of making an entry almost every day. The reminders have a lot to do with my perseverance. But what puts this program apart from similar apps are all the additional info it gathers. That actually makes going back looking at old entries interesting because they are in some sort of context. Before that, i never kept a diary because what is the point of writing something if you're never going to read it again?

There are some things not working quite well with Chronories though. I don't quite understand where it takes its «contacts» information form, but it's certainly not a complete list of people I am exchanging e-mail with.In fact it seems to select only the most irrelevant e-mail I receive and keep only these contacts. It may work better with chats, but I am not a chat person.

Also, but less aggravating, the iCal list of events does not load unless iCal has been running. Since I use BusyCal, it forces me to launch iCal every day anyway.
