Ditto ... Totally agree with Penguirl !

Developers .... Multiple sources for your potential market. I don't purchase through the App Store!

Runs under 10.6.8 on intel powerbook. I can find no provision to provide scale within the drawings. This appears to offer only the ability to create unscaled line drawings.

If the developer provided direct sales, as the better developers do .... I'd give this a try. However, since the developer has chosen to only deal through the Apple App store I will not either try or purchase this product.

Buying though the app store without access to a trial version ... I knew better than this! Won't do it again. Utilized the developers pre-purchase tool (SNMP Test Utility 1.3.1 release) to validate my router as suitable with success.

Purchased the app through the app store as the developer has opt'd not to make it available through their web site. This should be WARNING sign number one.

Now I see, from using the app that there is only the ability to monitor aggregated traffic through the router. Default installation on my mac, looking at a time capsule NetUse monitors only the mgi1 interface. This is the aggregated WAN interface. 13 interfaces are available via SNMP from the time capsule, but none can be selected within the app for display.

I was led to believe, from the marketing write-up that router port monitoring would be available from this app. It does not offer this. I had also understood that individual connected devices could be monitored, this it does not offer either.

So far as I have been able to discover via use of the app for a few hours and a thorough examination of all the support documents available on the developers web site ... aggregated monitoring is all the application offers. IF this is important enough to you to keep this application running the the background 24/7 then it may be of value for that purpose.

Regrettably, it does nothing else. I wasted my coin without a trial version on an app sold ONLY through the app store. Let this be a warning to others! NO Trial version ... then DON'T buy. NO direct purchase option, then DON'T buy.

I have used version 2.7 for several years and it is an excellent program. I would love to say thank you by paying from version 3 and indeed came to MacUpdate tonight to do just that. However, I will not purchase any upgrades to this or other applications through the apple app store. This is end of life for this application at my location. Revival only possible through a change of policy by the developer, allowing users to purchase either through MacUpdate or directly from the developer's web site.

Selling this ONLY through the app store is an example of short sighted developmental management. Consumers BUYING through only the app store are foolish as well. Single source supply through only Apple? What a slippery slope you tread!

We need distributed sourcing and we need robust fully functional applications.

If you won't provide me these things I'll do without. I hope more people will see the dangers of Apple's app store and opt instead to use Macupdate as their preferred source, and purchase directly from the author. Vote with your money!

I'd love to try LanScan, but I won't go to Apple's app store.

Many developers understand the importance of selling directly, outside the MAS and those I support. They are also wise to sell through the MAS as well, it's good marketing for them.

Selling direct bypasses Apples commission from the MAS. Selling direct allows the developer to provide trial software. I will not purchase software which has no trial period and the MAS does not permit free trials. Buying direct means the developer can provide recent buyers with perks e.g. free upgrade to the next version for recent purchase, such is not permitted through the MAS. Buying direct means the developer can provide more functionality, otherwise prohibited by the MAS.

There are potential, simple benefits to purchasing through the MAS for those who wish to do so. Let the MAS exist, use it if you wish. I will purchase only from those who also sell direct and include trial periods. I've seen too many market hyped, dreamware bits of software that does not perform properly to have any further interest in trusting the developers marketing statements.

I don't use the Apple App Store, period. What I need is for developers to recognize the need and demand for direct downloads for all of their applications. This benefits the developers and provides the consumer benefits as well. This discussion ends now.

The system requirements on this page are incorrect. iTunesX v9 requires an intel processor.

It would be nice if there were a link available to download version 8 for those of us running PPC equipment.

Retrospect Express 6.0 has been working swimmingly well on my old G4. However, I just went looking for driver updates and see the dantz has redirected to EMC which now redirects to iOmega.... and the iOmega page is blank. Not looking well supported is it? Time to bale I guess ... been a Retrospect user for neigh onto twenty years ... looks like either SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner are the choices to follow today... or Chronsync! Been using all three for awhile and each seems to do a good job on everything from the old G4 to my new MacBook Pro. RIP Retrospect Express!

Developer .... I would have written this to you as an email except there is no apparent email or telephone contact for you on your web site. I suggest you consider placing contact info there. I would have purchased your app tonight but the Apple app store won't accept my valid credit card info ... seems many other people have this trouble too. Perhaps it is a bad idea to sell through the apple app store and you should sell directly through MacUpdate.
