Unmount-Mount iPod will unmount and remount an iPod without requiring the user to physically disconnect it. This is useful for folks who need iTunes to update Smart Playlist or Play Count info, which iTunes will do only on initial connect.

both the download link and the developer's site are 404. sounds iike it's no loss anyway since apparently the app never worked. might want to remove it altogether.
My iPod's old, and it tends to overheat when mounted on OS X. Heat's bad for the batteries, but unmounting keeps me from going through the iPod music library, and unplugging the iPod could prevent the iPod from recharging to its fullest (that is if the iPod's batteries are subject to the memory effect of rechargable batteries.)
I needed something to remount on the desktop without interrupting the recharging process, and this script does that job perfectly. Kudos.
Didn't work for me either. iPod doesn't show up in sources--that's the whole problem in the first place. Not only that, but when you declare a variable in an if clause, and the if condition is never true, you get an error because the variable isn't defined. (That's why you should never declare a variable in an if clause and try to use it outside the if.)
