If you experience crashes like some users reported, check if you have V3 installed (press Help or F3 while running the application). Early downloaders may have downloaded a buggy beta version (not stating v3) that was not supposed to be released.
If you still experience crashes with V3, please send me the picture(s) it crashes on so that I can reproduce/fix the problem.

Version 3.0 quits everytime on .png files.
Error message:
An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down.
This version is unstable, quits constantly.

Ooops!
There something wrong with the new version 3.0 !!!

I get the following errors when opening .gif-files:

The first error dialog box reads: "Simple View unexpectedly quit."
Then a second error dialog box appears: "An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down."

QUIIICK, I accidentally uploaded an old version earlier today. Reload it if you don't have v3.0 (press Help or F3).
Sorry for the inconvenience...

THE software I have been looking for since I moved in OS X. It perfectly replace BigPicture in OS9. And unlike many viewers, SimpleView does not copy the files anywhere, nor does it tries to catalog them!!!!! It just shows you the image(s) inside of a file or a folder.

This application is simply fantastic, it allows my PB 667 to render very large TIFF and JPG files with greatly improved speed, when compared to 'Preview'. Many, many thanks!

Very nice and compact. Maybe even the only Freeware picture viewer that isn't on crack.

I'd still like to configure the keyboard controls though. For me it's natural to choose the _next_ picture with down arrow and the previous w/ up. We read and write from top to bottom, i think...

Also, an OSD that shows the file name (or path+name) for a few seconds when changing files would be a terrific improvement. The full-screen interface can be very dark and lonely if you don't know where you're navigating ;)

This I actually consider a bug: when dragging a folder onto SimpleView, it shows the pictures in random order. Because SV doesn't display the file name, it's really impossible to know _which_ file you're looking at. This makes eg. reading comic books unpractical.
