Replace the Jaguar wait cursor.

Overview

Blobber allows you to replace the wait cursor in MacOS 10.2 Jaguar. Blobber is the result of a great chat in the MacNN forums. People have been trying to replace the cursor in Jaguar ever since the Aqua Blob was replaced by the Rainbow Pinwheel. It has been discovered how to replace the cursor, but it requires the terminal which is a part of MacOS X with which few are comfortable. Blobber lets you apply a cursor replacement in a much more user friendly manner.

Neat. But... This is a wonderful way to make a system with anything other than the exact stock 10.2 CoreGraphics unbootable. Internal changes in the layout, packing, and detailed structure of the CoreGraphics framework, as a result of soemthing as simple as a compiler or even a prebinding change, will have Blobber trashing data within CoreGraphics. Use at your own risk.

I haven't had any problems with the blobber app running. since Blobber runs all the time, i'd say the environment it's in is key. Since I'm running the exact version Blobber was meant for (Jag 10.2.7), I'm getting good results. BTW: Did any of you have to pay $ or lose info from that type of crash?

I ran it on an older G4 and after selecting the windows cursor by mistake it asked me to reboot before it could make any changes. On reboot, it left me with a blue screen -- no menu bars, no disk icons, no dock. This on OS 10.2. I would NOT recommend running this hack.

Worked fine for me on 10.2 Jaguar, replacing that annoying Beachball, but tried to run it on Panther and it corrupted the system, not allowing me to start up. Great if it works!

I had a real problem with this update. No problems at all with Blobber 1.2, getting the app, and the part 2 in the Library/Application Support. This time, at the load point, application window, asking for a password, messed me all up. I could not get it Loaded.

Awful. It stalled, and caused me to have to reinstall Jaguar. Boo.
