I have a number of players (other than QTP which was f'd up on two recent system upgrades) that do better and faster with no plug-ins required.
However if you can implement WORKABLE matroska, you'd have me in an instant. But, I am assuming since that would require rewriting the codec package in base code, and it isn't QT compatible, this would never happen?
I use quicktime player as a quick 'n dirty way to listen to individual mp3 files when I don't want to import them into my iTunes library. However, for the life of me, I wasn't able to find a way to create a playlist for quicktime player. While looking for info on such a feature, I came across a forum thread that mentioned this application. So I gave it a try.
Although it has been out of development since 2007, I can say it works just fine on OS X 10.6.8 and does have the ability to make playlists AND play them. It was also very straight forward to figure out how to use; was up and running in a minute.
Perhaps my ratings are overly positive, but I figure five-year-old abandonware deserves a bonus star in all categories.
And if anyone does know how to create a playlist of mp3 files for Quicktime Player, I am all ears/eyes.

Used to love this program unfortunatley it crashes upon launch in Tiger and from what I can tell all development has ceased. Such as shame, the Mac community has needed a program like this for years. Yes I know iTunes now can play back videos now, however I would prefer to keep music and videos separate, and there is no comparison of the feature set and compatibility for various formats between iTunes and Cellulo.
Just FYI, if you get the 2.0b theres an option in the preferences to allow you to use mplayer for playback! So you can play your Xvid, divX whatever :D
This is great! An application that does for videos what iTunes did for music- they even have a similar interface, which looks good when you want to keep things uniform on your computer. It supports a wide variety of formats- the ability to play .swf files in fullscreen is a major plus- although I don't think it can play XVid yet. Correct me if I'm wrong. Still, it's faster at switching to fullscreen that MPlayer and more stable than VLC, plus it automatically loads playlists, so congrats for helping me find a great fullscreen player!
Well, in fact, the feature allowing the user to choose the screen for full screen mode has been present at least since version 1.2, but it was broken in version 1.3.
Version 1.3.1 fixes this: to choose the screen, open the movie in window mode, place the window on the screen that should be used for projection, then switch to full screen mode.
Slow compared to VLC. the interface is nice. Needs to be able to let me choose the screen i want. My T.V. is conected to a scan converter connected to me extra display output... Need to be able to choose that display like with VLC. Good but the french students are still rock'n it!
This seems like a nice little app suitable for viewing short internet type content. Have only used for a short time but so far nice and stable. A little bit f a hiccup between movies but the interface is very logical. Nice App!
