After long searching (years) for a reasonably functional open source viewer for the Mac; iRad is a refreshing surprise. Not only does it have the right tools for a real world radiology environment, it is integrated with an actual open source PACS which also runs on Mac architecture. This is a fact which I missed when I first looked at iRad a year ago. Not only does the SCP function as a receive station for images sent from other PACS (spelled "teleradiolgy") but makes a full IHE compliant PACS service available for archiving, retrieval, distribution, printing, RIS & HL7 integration, etc., etc. And you can't beat the price.

I was unable to make a dicomdir selecting a folder containing dicom files copied from philips xa angio cd; another thing: it does'nt hold the selected image size but you are forced to reselect it viewing the next image/series; for the rest it works great. thanks lance

This program downloaded and runs perfectly on my G4 DP tower running OS X 10.2.3. I can also translate these into several formats for use in Photoshop--but the identifying text is absent. The workaround is to take a window shot with Grab, and save this. Works great. Oliver Johnson, M.D.

I just tried downloading and installing the IRad 1.5.6 software on my Mac dual G-4 with Mac OS 10.2.8. When I double click on the iRad_1.5.6dmg icon I get a message saying: "Disc Copy Program iRad_1.5.6dmg failed to mount due to error 95, no mountable file system" Any advice would be very welcome
