RandomExtra is a tool which helps you manage your screen savers. It picks a module according to your configuration and uses it when screen saver starts.

If you don't want a screen saver to be picked for the time being, just "deactivate" it in config dialog. With RandomExtra, you don't need to delete modules from various screen saver directories.
What's New
Version 3.0:
  • Works on OS X 10.7.4
  • Added "screen" option. For each module, you can specify among "Any"(default), "Primary" or "Non-Primary".
  • Any: The module can be displayed on any one of your screens.
  • Primary: Primary screen only (the screen with menu bar).
  • Non-Primary: Any screen, except the primary screen.
  • iPhoto albums should be able to work now.

Known issues:

  • The options of the iPhoto album modules are ignored, only default options will be used.
  • If two different iPhoto album modules are picked for each screen, the behavior is undefined. You may see photos from across the albums on different screens.

Very nice app but seems to be dead now. If you go to Developer or simply try to download for above, you are sent to a web page for an outfit called "GoDaddy". Once there there does not seem to be a direct way to return. If one goes through "History" on a Mac with Firefox 28.0b1, one can return, but something seems wrong. At any rate, does anyone know how to get a new version of this app?

Really great screensaver!

Could you add the option that the monitor where no screensaver is shown doesn't black out!

Thank!

Stopped working for me with 10.7.4. If it's not fixed, I'll miss it. If it is, I'll be a happy camper.

RandomExtra is a must have but on my 10.6.6 Mac Pro it simply displays this message: "Something is wrong. I am sad that I cannot pick a module for you - RandomExtra" I am sad that it's not working for me.

Too bad this is no longer being supported. I tried contacting the author a few weeks back but there has not been any response...

Anyone got any good suggestions for an alternative?

The best "random screensaver" tool out there. Simple, reliable and you can't beat the price.

Long live customization! It doesn't add any new screen savers, but it gives you control over the Apple's "random" setting with "priority" gauges on the screen savers you do have. Plus it lets you disable particular effects that are just annoying. My download worked perfectly, and the documentation is thorough. What a bonus that it's free!

I really love this, it is wonderful freeware!
I just have one comment or question. I have reverted back to ver. 2.0 because with it I got 2 different randomly picked screensavers on my dual display G4. I just get the same one twice every time with ver. 2.1. Is this a bug?

Other than that I have nothing but high praise for this program.
