This is a great little application that I use 50 time a day. Support is superb - the developers respond quickly and helpfully. 100% recommended!

Is it just me, or does this new version (3.0) do the same fails-to-load disappearing act for Jaguar users? This looks like Panther behavior, but MacUpdate's own listing insists that this is for System 10.1 or above. Developer's own site doesn't provide a clue. (It only notes that this is a beta, *not* a final release.)

Also, having failed ever to load, the new version very obligingly set all my old v. 2.53 files to open only with 3.0, which I now cannot do. Very frustrating. Comments or observations from other Jaguar users?

WE'll update the web site, I guess it is not clear but version 3 is for Panther only.

We'll work on giving better indications of this, sorry for the inconvenience.

Excellent, with the latest update (v. 3) adding a nice, Panther-savvy refresh. Highly recommended for your "notepad" application, and much more.

Alepin is something I use on a daily basis and would be lost without it. It makes working with multiple text files in OSX much easier. Glad to see MS Word files now import correctly as formatted text in version 2.4. A real imorovement!

The gem of notepad applications. A clean, simple Cocoa Aqua interface, and it's resisting the feature creep that has destroyed the beauty software like Jotz. (A mail application built in to your notepad? Why?!) Nice price, too.

I got a very fast answer from Macchampion (writer Alepin):
Please redownload 2.3.1 The first version of 2.3 was corrupted, we reposted it and then posted 2.3.1

If this fails, please let us know there may be another issue and we'll want to help you out!

Another thing to try if things do not get better is to delete the preferences file (~/Library/Preferences/com.macchampion.alepin.plist)

Hope this helps! Let us know!

And 2.3.1 works VERY FINE !!!

Alepin 2 is fantastic. The perfect low cost, non-intrusive notepad replacement I've been looking for. Being about to hide/show the toolbar with a shortcut key would be idea -- currently you have to use the menu.
