Hi, I bought and I'm really disappointed. It's slow - at least, the localized version for German is terrible, texts do not fit, buttons to small, they never tested this. Worst case is, I asked SmithMicro for a refund and the even don't answer.

I purchased the old version of ExecutiveSync back in the day with (then) Aladdin's Ten For X utility bundle, which somehow became YouSync and then support was dropped until SmithMicro bought it and re-released it under the original ExecutiveSync name. Regardless of which name it carries this app is a dud. Slow, unintuitive, and incomplete synchronizations are the rule, there are much better freeware/shareware choices. Brought to you by the same folks that continue to push Stuffit and Spring Cleaning on an unsuspecting public. Caveat emptor (buyer beware).

This is by far, the best backup/sync utility available for Mac OS X. Is fast, complete and has the built in safety of archiving. With the release of Panther, it has picked up a small "bug" of showing two (2) "Help" menus. Sure this will be corrected in the next release.

I would rank ExeSync the best of the OSX filesync applications. Only 1 missing feature. I need something similar to IE history which allows me to delete the history after 30 days. I don't care what files I synced 6 months ago. Worth the shareware fee.

Hey anonymous, I love the comment, "I'm predisposed to thinking that Microsoft software developers are inherent money hungry pr*cks". Jason works in the Mac BU so he's a small M$ pr*ck. He got my $20 ExecutiveSync but he's not going to get my $500 for Office. This is a great program. I suppose that M$ developers don't count as M$ developers when they write code for the Mac in their spare time.

This program rocks. As far as I can tell this is the only sync program for OSX that recognizes a file/folder was deleted in one folder/volume and deletes or moves the file/folder in the other folder/volume. This great because I may work on one machine and move/rename/delete a file. Afer syncing that chane is reflecte on the other machine. With other so-called sync programs the two folders are always made identical. So if I delete a file in one place but not the other it will come back, over and over again. Very frustrating.

Executive Sync is an excellent program. I purchased a copy for my wife in January to keep her powerbook backed up to my G4 tower. We have run it every Sunday for 6 months without even a minor problem. It takes 11 minutes to backup the entire volume over ethernet 3 minutes over firewire. We y recomend this program for users with multiple Mac computers.

This is a true OS X application from a real computer developer. I've added this to my utilities toolbox.

I'm predisposed to thinking that Microsoft software developers are inherent money hungry pr*cks and I would love to give this product a poor evaluation. Regrettably for my ego Jason's ExecutiveSync has thrown me for a loop. This program is now indispensable for everyone that uses both Mac OS X and Windows.

Features: fine, nothing out of the ordinary. Interface: nice, but "brilliant"? No. As a tool, seems to do the job, and the price is good. It lacks a couple big features. DejaVu and Duover both have the ability to backups run in the background, via cron, a can't-live-without feature. Plus, Duover is able to automatically mount remote servers -- a lifesaver when I backup my laptop to my desktop machine. (One not-software complaint: Executive's website has a page called "ES in the Press", which at first glance makes it look like ES has been reviewed by a lot of people. Not so. If you click the links, you see these are mainly press releases. I do not like this sort of marketing.)

I found this software to be worthless. If you've rearranged subfolders on one computer but not the other, the program simply ends up duplicating all of the folders that were moved on each machine, making a complete mess out of your hard drive. PowerMerge for OS9 had this problem solved but they won't make an OS X version. This program definitely isn't a replacement.

Excellent sync program. Just one problem: it isn't multi-user aware. I set it up to sync a selection of folders on my user accounts between my iBook and my desktop G4, and it worked beautifully. But when I tried to do the same for my wife's accounts, it refused to run, saying that it needed read/write access to the folders it will be syncing. Investigation showed that it stores its sync data in the Application folder, not in the user's Library, so no matter what user launches the program, it expects to be syncing the same set of folders. Bad mojo. Make it properly multi-user aware, and then I'll register.

Easily the best file sync program for OS X. Easy to use, affordable, and works great between my PowerBook G4 and PowerMac G4. Thanks for making an awesome program!
