DesInstaller is a simple tool that reads the receipts generated when you install a .pkg file with Apple's Installer. Every file installed by this package is removed, even if it has been modified, and archived if you ask the DesInstaller to. If you decide to use a reinstaller, you will get a tar archive, for portability, and a shell script with a "command" extension, to be double clickable. Please be aware that even if the reinstalller does not actually care about its position when invoked, the two parts (the tar archive and the term shell script) are both needed in the same folder.
What's New
Version 3.0b3:
  • Brand new engine (10 to 20 times faster, according to my testing)
  • Brand new interface (Better, worse? YOUR call)
  • Removal / Archive procedures
  • A few extra stuff that should be there anyway...
Requirements
PPC, Mac OS X 10.0 or later

I have used this program for several years and it has been absolutely _great_. I wish Apple made an official uninstaller. However, I recently upgraded to OS X 10.6.6 from 10.5.8 and now it no longer works. Big bummer.

I can't say what the reviewers said before. For me desinstaller works as expected and removes all installed packages without problems.

The idea behind Desinstaller quite good but the actual tool realy has an very annoying behaviors. It often crashes, does not respond anymore and gets may authorisation errors for what's ever.

But sometimes it realy works and deletes all files assosiated with the installer.

Looks straight forward, but I kept getting authorization errors after I enter my password. Wouldn't remove anything. I'd like to give it another try later though.

Tried it on 10.3.9 using the Bogus.pkg. Fuuunkay behavior, but it worked. Left an empty folder behind.

Wow... What a great app. I just came from Linux and decided to start rolling my own packages after installing xcode tools, and I quickly realized there is NO WAY to uninstall my packages...

Where do I send the check? This thing needs to be included in OSX without a doubt. Thanks for the great app. The only thing it's missing is multiple uninstall selections... ;-)

Awesome! I installed something for a older version of OS X, and I didn't need it... searched MacUpdate and found this! Perfect, thanks to the developer!
