downloaded to try. Very interesting concept. I actually like it. But it feels kind unfinished, when comparing to today's email clients. Similar to Unibox in some way, but again, something is lacking. Description says messages can be sorted in different ways. Doesn't work. What is 'Thread' on the toolbar ? Clicked but does nothing.

I have been using this app since the 90's, and I haven't found anything that makes me want to switch. Admittedly, I don't use public mail servers and have no need to synch to them, but this app has allowed me to customize every aspect of my mail server to app that matters. I have never found anything that allows me to manage my mail any better. The only real shortage is the lack of html view, but that stops pages from automatically loading and logging personal info by spammers, and browser access is easy when desired, so that is a plus for me. It's not for nubes, but for those who want full mail control, it's a sweet match.

An Intel-only version (dated 10-Sep-2011) can be downloaded from http://www.namera.jp/sweetmail/Welcome.html The GUI hasn't changed but it's still very very fast!

Unintuitive interface. Can't make this work with Mac OS 10.5.7 and Gmail. No way I can find to change the ports with which to pop or smtp mail.

SUGIURA: Anymore news? Any progress? SweetMail still works fine with POP. A trick I have used is to map MailServe to my various accounts and create a one-stop mail clearing house. SweetMail can talk directly to a local storage point on your machine. Works great!

Wow, SweetMail looks like a blast from the OS 9 past. It hasn't been updated in years and doesn't have the functionality (STARTTLS for one) to work with gmail. It would be nice to see a Cocoa version someday, as it is I cannot do a thing with it.

I would be SO HAPPY if you really are doing this!! :D I would use it over Apple Mail and GyazMail (as well as Thunderbird) any day! Let us (community) know if there is any way we can help. (8/5/2008, Version: 2.2r6) ---------------- Type: Developer Author: SUGIURA I'm writing codes to convert endian between PowerPC and Intel. It's may be not so difficult. I know how to make it. But, Plz wait some months with your patience. because I'm sunday developer have a few minutes to write. best, (8/6/2008, Version: 2.2r6)

Still works a treat in Leopard. Love the fact that it DOESN'T do html mail - a double-click sends the html to my offline browser, where I can read the text, inspect the source code and, if necessary (rarely), reload it in online mode. Maybe it's time for me to drop it, but I don't see any reason why I should.

What a shame. I emailed the author a year ago asking if he would release sources, no response. This is a great application (well, for those who like this sort of design). Still works on 10.4.11, btw. I wonder if it will work on Leopard? Anyway, if anyone knows the developer, see if he is willing to release the sources into open source or something.

Still running sweetly on OS 10.3.6. App no longer being updated I believe. Only thing it doesn't do is html but that's fine with me. I set it to launch an offline browser so I don't give "come -ons" to spammers (not that I get any). Pity this thing is freeware, which means: it's not going anywhere in terms of development.

It works well and its pretty fast. The only request I would have of the author is to permit e-mail in HTML.

Does this really have IMAP? It says it does but nothing on the website says so. The last entry in the Revision History is from 2002. I hope it does, but I won't hold my breath.
